    In the 1990s and early 2000s we reached a maximum in tolerance. Racists, sexists, intolerant people of any kind existed in every time frame – but generally people just did not care about gender/sex, religion,…
    It was possible to make some jokes without getting tared and feathered or getting some kind of *phob stamp on the forehead.

    Nowadays we have a lot of people actively searching a reason…

    …to feel offended and discriminated. Under the banner of tolerance and diversity we are now (often successfully) pushed to behave uniform. Anybody opposing gets pushed into corner. Arguments aren't considered or listened to. Once a negative buzzword is attributed to a person, said person is socially finished.

    This has a big impact on society – as can be seen with such censorship: Do not discuss!

    For quite some time I've been considering writing a blog entry about the topic. What is going on regarding eradicating any kind of pluralism of opinions is scary. Yes, your example is just a video game. It is also a symptom of some larger problem.

    How can people *still* believe Elon Musk is in any way "smart" after failing at rocket design (something we had more-or-less figured out in the 60s), failing at 'revolutionising' city travel (Hyperloop - century-old idea he stole), and now failing at Twitter with post-read limits?

    The reading limit is a sales strategy like the blue check, if you have a big base of sheeps customers, you give them the order to buy something they will buy without think, you will see lots and lots of sheeps buying acces in the next days. Something like what Netflix did, and instead loosing subscriptors they sell more than ever...

    Playing through Black 2 (alright, fine, the original BlazeBlack 2) again, and man do I appreciate the PWT; it's a solid recognition of all previous games and regions prior to Unova, as all previous Gym Leaders and Champions return for it.

    The only flaw is that it doesn't include Elite 4 members, and thus no Koga (who was a Gym Leader, but moved up to an E4 member, and thus doesn't appear), and for the Type Expert tournaments there weren't enough Gym Leaders for every type, resulting in throwaway NPCs filling the gaps.

    If only Game Freak could be arsed to bring back a bigger and better PWT in their newer games...with much more powerful hardware, more storage space, and four more regions having been added, a PWT revival could include all Gym Leaders/Elite 4/Champions, and thus more than enough Type Expert challengers.

    Is there anything worth buying a PS5 for? Quite a few games are being ported to Steam, or I've played them on PS4 Pro before, so is there any reason to spend $649 on the console?

    Ever since PvE was removed from Overwatch 2, there's been a ton of videos discussing it and calling the game 'dead' and (rightfully) getting upset over this rug-pull, this multi-year deception.

    I've never been as interested in this crappy FPS as I am now. Fuck Blizzard.

    I recently watched a few episodes of Kim Possible again, just a few nights ago, and...eeeh, it could've been better.
    I understand the need to have a "strong female character" in Kim and Shego, but...did they need to make Drakken and Ron such wimps in return?

    It just seems like they 'overcorrected' in that regard; make Kim and Shego capable fighters, sure, but don't wimpify the boys in return; make them, y'know, equal. Like what the point of "equality of the sexes" suggests.
    Ron only becomes capable when he's turned evil, in those two episodes; Drakken...never is.

    Totally different target audiences.

    Justified in Kim Possible since she's the main protagonist.
    For example, Dexter's Lab has an annoying DeDe, it gives the character a reason to be.

    Anyway, Kim and Shego should french kiss. It's a shame they never did that possible.

    Seems like Xbox hasn't been doing well this generation; that Halo game was crap, Redfall is essentially a deadfall, and I can't think of much else going for it.
    If Starfield (the only other major Xbox exclusive) flounders, would that risk turning the brand from Xbox to Exbox?

    @x65943 Starfield is being developed and produced by Bethesda, and...well, they don't have the best track history when it comes to initial releases (Skyrim's always been a bug-filled mess, even with years separating ports; same with Fallout, especially 76). So...considering that, I wouldn't use language like "will not disappoint", as that just seems too certain, too much of a guarantee.

    Bleeeurgh - it's fuelled by needless time-wasters and bullshit. Screw off; not having dev-placed map markers is a massive time-waster and a huge quitting-trigger. Extremely fragile weapons and shields are a large turn-off. Limited stamina is an unnecessary hindrance on the explorative value (only adding to the time-wasting).

    Well, there's something I didn't expect - my brother (who's never been a big Nintendo fan) suggesting he, me, and Dad watch The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Dad (who doesn't live cartoon/animated movies, at all) agreeing to watch it.

    Dad found it better than he feared; I loved it.

    Surprised we saw a Luma, but no Rosalina, though. Huh.
    The DK Rap was amazing. The yellow capes Mario and Luigi wore, in their ad? Actual power-up, played for a laugh. Tanooki/Raccoon Suit can't actually fly like that - only a P-Wing can, or the cape (heh).

    Kinda not really surprised it didn't follow the classic formula of "Peach captured, go rescue her", considering modern sensibilities, and games like Mario 2 USA and 3D World, but...eh, that wasn't exactly an accurate depiction of her usual role. I thought Daisy was the tomboy, not Peach.

    What else...Mario played Kid Icarus, and since that game's quite difficult (and he was sad) he died quickly. He also threw Bowser by the tail, at the end.
    Why was Bowser after a specific Invincibility Star? Those don't last long, and are reasonably common power-ups. He also doesn't use his size-changing powers, either.

    Felt like a pfp change, since Pokémon's no longer as amazing as it used to be; now it's a character from a certain game I'm currently playing through.

    I wonder how many people would recognise him...and would be able to name him?

    This is likely something that bugs only me, but...Fire Emblem Engage, why is the Three Houses Bracelet Emblem named "Edelgard" when it also contains Dimitri and Claude? That's biased of you, and rather irritating.

    Fire Emblem Engage actually fixed an issue I've noticed the series has had for a long time, making me like it even more - class skills truly being class-specific, instead of skills characters permanently learn by being in that class.

    Since that was tied to each character's level, and thus their hidden internal level, it always got painfully slow as you covered more classes to get more skills.
    In Engage, that's no longer the case, thankfully - only promoted classes have a single class skill, and if you reclass you lose it.

    Instead, you get permanent skills from engaging Emblems and increasing a character's Bond level with each Emblem, which runs off a separate 'experience' counter for each Emblem - so much faster, especially since you can optionally increase the Bond immediately through the Arena.

    Now characters can remain in their ideal class (or whatever class you choose for them, anyway) for the entire playthrough and still get skills, which just feels so much better than in previous FE games.
    ...Though unfortunately there's not as many skill slots as in those previous games, which sucks. Not as much customisation as there could've been.
