What a day. Came back way later than expected. And still no answer to the question if you are trying to pick on me?!
Hunger… it will take some time until I can make my fried chip potatoes (wood fire oven).

Please wait a bit longer until I can type a PM.

Pick on you? And why should I? And what sentence makes you think that? Besides, I've already told you it is not so! My intentions are always constructive. Why this apparently hostile attitude?

I think permanent animations are distracting and annoying... and even a thousand ":(" aren't gonna change this.
20 years ago I finished Lunar on my PSX:mediocre 8bit graphics (like MEGA-CD ver but more colorful) catchy bgms and engaging story.A few years ago I almost finished gba ver on my AGS001.Today I will start on my psp3004 the more recent ver, surely the most graphically beautiful, this time with a little help (max money cheat) that I hope will not ruin gameplay.

PlayStation 1 and 8-bit graphics? That sounds like an anachronism.

The PSX version is identical to the Megadrive-CD version, but with more colors, and brighter: the graphics were actually 16bit, but apparently so crude, poor, and approximate as to look like a Master System game.

PS1 has very few 2D games due to Sony's policy of pushing 3D.
Nevertheless 2D games can look very good on the system.

Has anyone here ever read the classic manga Hadashi no Gen (Barefoot Gen, Gen of Hiroshima)? What did you think of it? Is it really as deep, heartbreaking and unforgettable as they say? Do you know where I can read all ten volumes online (or in pdf format)?

Where does this statement come out of nowhere? In any case, this also applies to me, but for other reasons....It is not necessary to become elderly and allow oneself to languish, but rather to live the present to the fullest, without regret and expectation. But you already know this...😉

Can anyone explain to me the meaning of this emoticon (emoji or whatever it's called)?
:hrth: I thought it meant something like"hearth"(fireplace). But I read somewhere that that acronym means"everything and nothing": so when to use it? And why does the emoji below seem to celebrate something? Regarding so many necessary emoji that are missing, this one is really useless. 😒

Considering it's a forum, it has as much information as you have given them.

Salted passwords are difficult to crack as long as the salt used is unpredictable, and we don't know how it was applied. If it's predictable via a weak password, then it's no use.

Don't know much about OpenID, but depending on what was compromised, they could have some info about your OpenID-linked account, which you can see what data they have by going into the service's settings, and seeing "linked apps" or "authorized apps", and reading what data you have given to the authorization.
    Sono
    Sono
You don't have to worry about your password, unless you're being targeted by the hackers (extremely unlikely).
As for OpenID, I would de-authorize and re-authorize, although not sure how the forum software would handle if you did that. If it's a shitty forum software, then your account could get lost due to the de-authorization.
Some of you accept death necessity only in words, but in fact you run away from it,and dont question the life meaning and the best way to face it. Pictures in spoilers:
Pictures can make profiles very hard to read. It often jumps when scrolling. Huge pictures are a pain for those with slow connection and/or limited data. Loading a profile regularly with a lot of pictures, quickly adds up. (That's why I even add the size of the pictures to blog entry titles and crop and compress all pictures down as good as possible).

Dear @KleinesSinchen ,you're right. Now that you have clarified I understand why death=salvation: in that case it is very understandable, and I agree. In fact I am in favor of euthanasia, as a personal choice and action, possibly not involving others.

Discussing ethical questions with random people? I'll give you blunt and partially joking answer (at least meant in a friendly, joking manner): You're a candidate for a "Balls-of-Steel"-Award.
Deleting a save file from the PSP menu, the attempt failed, and connecting the PSP to the PC a sector appears corrupted. That 12.5G folder with gibberish symbols is actually ~300kb. Trying to delete it would corrupt my entire microSD! Same thing happened a year ago with my DSi using DSOrganize. I can only leave it that way, if I don't want to copy hundreds of PSX eboots again.

I'll have to try how much data storage I can connect to a Pentium 1 based computer. Probably about 2TB with a PCI SATA controller. Same with a PCI USB 2.0 card. Or as much as the main computer via SMB share.

I finally finished Saiyuki; Journey West (psx) (obviously without cheating) on my dear PSP 3004.
Excellent tactical-rpg game, even better than F.F.T. and Vandal Hearts, much more colorful and rich of characters from Indian mythology.
It took me 3 evenings to defeat giant Asura and his 6 arms, with a very slow and exhausting, but ultimately successful strategy. I love this game genre. 😋
Guys, to your delight your dear daddy is back, to scold you, to administer spankings left and right, and to keep you in line, for your own good, of course. 😉
If you expect a failure, does it still disappoint you?
    Nikokaro
    Nikokaro
Esoteric answer (for a few): You have to see what is meant by "failure". We say, "the important thing is to participate, not to win." Just taking action, giving one's best, is already a success: the result will come of itself, whether positive or negative. We must not attach ourselves (be obsessed) to the fruit of our actions, as Mahatma Gandhi taught.
    Nikokaro
    Nikokaro
Trivial answer (for most): We are usually disappointed because, even though intellectually we know we will fail, deep down we childishly hope for the unlikely eventuality that we will still succeed, to please/flatter our ego. An understandable, widespread (human, too human!) weakness, but for those beginning a journey of spiritual maturity, first obstacle to overcome. 😉

So this is me asking you, "How are you? Is everything okay? Where does this unique passion (obsession?) of yours for CD drives come from? Is it related to some fond youthful memory? It's none of my business, but curiosity often gets the better of me. 😉

You mean a little joke like this is an unfriendly method of continuing conversation? While you didn't seem to think of me at all for quite some time?

Besides, my obsession is more about the paradox behind any form of DRM: Granting access and trying to prevent it at the same time.
Revisiting the CD topic is indeed connected to my youth and a misallocation caused by stuff in more recent past.

    a) Search for the price of a Plextor Premium. The only drive that can make almost perfect copies of newer SecuROM CDs.
    b) It is related to my write-up, which has been on halt for a few weeks due to heat. You have been so friendly to read a very early version.

Longevity of recordable media is a complex topic, unsuitable for profile messages.
I've had CD-R and DVD±R fail after a few months.

    Now I remember ...... Sorry.
I actually used an exaggerated term. I had to say this "stuff."
For my problem, my assumption was that I had used a very low copy speed for CDs (2x).
    KleinesSinchen
    KleinesSinchen
    Short answer:
I've yet to test if the ever-mentioned burning speed truly has an impact on quality. That will cost a bunch of CD-R and DVD±R… for science

    * Writer→Worn laser writes weaker
    * Media quality→Important stuff should be burned twice (on different brand blanks)
    * Storage→Cool, dry, dark
    * Handling→Scratches are bad, dropping on the edge is very bad
    * Anorganic dye should last longer: BD-R HTL type and M-DISC
A few minutes ago the site just asked me if I want to activate Push Notifications, which in truth were already activated. I go to my profile and they turn out to be strangely deactivated. So I reactivate them and they turn out different than before, with the site mascot in the foreground. How come?
Edit: I confirm that the PNs are different from before.

It is precisely that kind of anger, even if only in fantasy or worse if repressed, that is dangerous especially for those who experience it. This reaction should be nipped in the bud before it develops. Once formed, it is best to find a physical outlet: running, working out, splitting wood, punching a bag, or better yet, making love .... 😉
    KleinesSinchen
    KleinesSinchen
With passion trying to convince… That one experiment was a success at least.

Physical workout is limited for somebody who is sensitive to heat at the moment. But surprise: Generally I do use running/cycling/wood splitting (in winter for the latter). As for "making love"… nobody will touch me or be allowed to touch me; and the drugs stripped me of those feelings entirely.
