You know, I collect old computers and the like for my little private museum. It is part of preservation.

@KleinesSinchen I happen to own one of those Chinese portable DVD players that can emulate NES games (very poorly to say the least), but best of all its region free.

An NES emulator would be awesome… on the other hand: No controller.
My newly acquired player supports Xvid, MPEG1/2 from USB and reads GigaRec CDs – a really pleasant surprise.

From what I could tell, the DVD player uses a SunPlus processor for both video/audio decoding and game emulation.

@KleinesSinchen The player came with a USB controller, any other controller than the one included doesn't even work. Sadly, I've lost the controller.

If you want to know on where to find these, they are sold with names such as 'EVD player' on eBay, Amazon, and AliExpress of most places.

@Nikokaro For the NES roms, they bundled a Verbatim branded CD-R with my player, containing many illegally obtained NES ROMs.

@Nikokaro Junkyard... I could talk about this, but not now. I've been at the actual junkyard quite often in the last few months, but it is not allowed to take stuff from there - only bring.
