    A new "Pokemon GO Club", huh...how many people here took one look at that overly-simplistic and monetised mobile game that involved going outside, said "nah, thanks", and never touched the thing?

    My brother has repeatedly taken our dog's collar off him, and when asked why, he said "dog doesn't like it" (false), "it's strangling him" (definitely not; more than enough room), and "I wouldn't like being collared" (you're not a dog, moron).

    Whereas Mum and I both point out that our dog NEEDS the collar, both for walks and in case he escapes again (it's happened a few times in the past, years ago now, but still, just in case). It's also something he's had for his entire life, so he's used to being collared (like most dogs are), and it's not tight AT ALL.

    Well, my cousin's girlfriend's coworker caught COVID sometime before Christmas, and my cousin had been spending time with his girlfriend before coming here yesterday (my Mum's family celebrates on 24, not 25), and no-one knew about that coworker, so...might have COVID...? Damn.

    And we originally planned to celebrate with Dad's family today, only for my cousin to be informed about that coworker late last night (long after everyone had left), and he then called us.

    Sigh...life, and illnesses, really do not care about mere human constructs like major holidays...

    You may not necessarily be infected. Also, the most common variant is less aggressive and dangerous. Only those with compromised immune systems and the elderly are at risk. Anyway, if you all are vaccinated the danger is almost nonexistent. Merry Christmas. :wink:

    My immediate family is vaccinated, but some members of Dad's (rather large) family aren't, so...yeah.
    And one of Dad's extended family is visiting an elderly aunt or something, who broke her arm before Christmas, too, so there's that as well.

    When will Pokemon learn that party-wide EXP is only justifiable when combat involves multiple fighters? It makes sense in Xenoblade or Final Fantasy, because it's 3 or 4 fighters with others in reserve. Pokemon is mainly 1v1, so should be only that fighter gets EXP.

    @Plazorn That sounds like an excellent idea, having an Easy Mode and a Challenge Mode that affects Trainers' levels and team compositions; why haven't they done that already?

    Let's Go may be heavily flawed in a lot of ways, but in hindsight it's got one thing I love - AVs replacing EVs, harkening back to stat EXP in RBYGSC. It's possible to max out all six stats, instead of only a max of two.

    I just find it more fun to have fully-maxed-out stats - not for the story, obviously, but for postgame challenges like the Battle Tower (or one of its clones), or in LGPE's case Master Trainers.

    I mean the Let's Go full AV meta was horrid. Everything just had an insane amount of bulk and battles went on too long. If LGPE had a Battle Tower in the same vein as BDSP where things are actually competitive, you'd have battles going on far past the point where they're fun. I do thing it's fun to just see big numbers on every mon, but it trivialises what challenge is left in the post-game.

    Well, maybe not LGPE's "one AV = one stat point"; stat EXP back in the Game Boy games used (square-root of stat EXP)/4, and the divided-by-four part was carried over for EVs.
    Keep the EV system, minus the 510-total cap, I'd say.

    Why the fuck is it illegal to not vote in Sydney? I don't know anything about the candidates, nor do I care; why can't I just abstain? Not have to shower, get dressed, drive to the nearest voting station, wait for a booth to be empty, number a couple boxes, then drive home?

    I dunno, if it's written well it could be interesting, seeing the future meet the past - especially depending on *when* Rex and Pyra go back - pre-Olethro Ruins? During the Leftheria Archipelago? After the suit change? Oh, and them "stumbling through a portal" isn't weird, thanks to the Land of Challenge; could even be the Nopon Archsage that arranges it.

    If there's one piece of "advice" I hate, it's when people suggest changing game VA to Japanese if the English VA is awful - this isn't a "better" option, since most English players don't know Japanese!

    Not only could it harm immersion, since everyone's now effectively speaking gibberish (and thus not matching subtitles), but there's plenty of dialogue that doesn't even get subtitles, such as often-important mid-battle chatter, such as ally and enemy attack exclamations.

    Tried iTunes syncing, Photos, and Image Capture - photos didn't appear at all, neither did any option to import/sync. Also tried backing up her phone, but it threw up a "disconnected" error near the end.
    And, well, she's not exactly fully computer-literate.

    I'm pretty sure syncing should've worked, maybe photo syncing is turned off somehow?
    A backup won't do much good since AFAIK it's encrypted and you can't get any files out of it.

    Maybe your problem is that you shower cubicle is too small. I hate shower cubicles because my elbows keep hitting the sides and I can't bend down properly to clean further below more easily. It's a bit claustrophobic.

    Comments are already incredibly easy to control, through filters and manual deletion, so using them to highlight actual problems with the video content isn't an effective means. Only the dislike count works, and that's gonna be gone soon.
