You forget 1 most important part for world, there Nuclear Station that Ukraine sometimes shot and this already can make disaster if go wrong. Good thing because of press they lower their attacks.
And US already involved, they sent weapons, there USA instructors, there fighting ppl not from Ukraine too. Not to forget viruses laboratories that USA government said not in Ukraine (Russia even prove it long ago), then after some time they "yeah, they there, but it's not important - it's Russia fault (wait what? Russia fault in US create them in other world? xD) And many things was before proved when west show Russia fault in attacks on Donbas, where originally Ukraine done it (let's remember west prove with cod video from game, lol)
There so many shit in politic and tv on both sides, but Russia in most cases give prove + later ppl confirm or it got leaked. So, we need to check info from all places

Oh I have no issue with the way Ukraine has been repelling this invasion, they've been incredibly effective and efficient in exposing the Russian military as a paper tiger. You're the one complaining about the US' contributions to that effort, whereas I believe we haven't had this much moral imperative to be involved in a conflict since WW2.

The absolute least we could do. Yes, the US has volunteer fighters involved, but so do lots of other countries. The US military getting involved directly would end the conflict within days, and ensure a regime change occurs in Russia. So there will be no major escalation from Putin unless he's gone completely braindead.

The Russian military sucks because it has not been prepared for land invasion. It is expensive to pay for the upkeep of land invasion armies. Plus their arrogance (in three days in Kiev; cf. your "squashed in a week*") Once North Korea has a lot of nukes, they will also reduce their infantry strength. Because it is not needed and you can spend the money elsewhere. Russian military budget is tiny compared to the US. Russia prioritizes using that money for rockets and air force.

The Russian army is doing poorly against another Russian army, called Ukraine. We don´t know how well the US would do against Ukraine. The US couldn´t defeat goat herders in Afghanistan or rice famers in Vietnam.

*Are you a native speaker btw? "Inside a week" seems odd.

You're referring to mutually assured destruction and/or nuclear Armageddon, which would ensure everybody loses and Putin ends up dead anyway. The Kremlin has instead only been threatening "tactical" nuclear strikes against Ukraine specifically, and even those threats have not materialized for reasons I've already cited.

I'm British, but I was in the Army in BAOR, also I spent a few years in the Balkan states and visited near enough every country in Europe. Also I spent some time in the middle east and Africa....and a few other places. Lived in Germany (Minden/Osnabruck/Hohne) and visited many other cities and towns there and lved with my German girlfriend and her kids and spent a lot of time socialising with her Brothers and friends - so know the culture very well.
