I currently have 2 O3DS NTSC-J, 1 O3DS, and 1 N3DS SysNAND 11.16 that wont play 3DS cartridge games without the SD card inserted. Is there a way around this because I do not intend to keep all these consoles and it would be easier for me to sell them if they can run a cartridge game without the SD card inserted. When the console(s) attempts to load the cartridge I get an error and the console has to reboot. Any help to this matter would be greatly appreciated

Are you using the same one SDCard for all consoles or seperate one for each?

Normaly each 3DS should play the cartrige with and without SD insert without any Problems. Maybe there is a error on the Card or faulty game data like the extdata, the save game or update from the specific game.

  • Run a Errorcorrection for the Card with Powershell chkdsk X: /r and try again. (Eject the card, dont pull it just out)
  • Else uninstall the Pokemone Ultra Sun update (Title ID ...1B5000), the extdata and savegame. Back it up before with Checkpoint if you are runnning CFW and try again.
  • Else try a empty Card. By moving all data to PC. And reformat it with fat32 32kb sektor size (64kb for bigger then 64gb) by using guiformat/fat32formatter. You might also run h2testw on the Card with a full write and read test to verify the card is not corrupted.
  • You may also remove the extradata on the Nand by using godemode9 and script from Plailect.
    1. Power off your device
    2. Launch GodMode9 by holding (Start) during boot
    3. Press (Home) to bring up the action menu
    4. Select “Scripts…”
    5. Select “GM9Megascript”
    6. Select “Scripts from Plailect’s Guide”
    7. Select “Remove extdata”
    8. Press (A) to continue
    9. Press (A) to unlock SysNAND (lvl1) writing, then input the key combo given
    10. Press (A) to continue
    11. Press (B) to return to the main menu
    12. Select “Exit”
    13. Press (A) to relock write permissions if prompted
    14. Press (Start) to reboot your device
