I just got a mod chip installed in my Nintendo Switch OLED and I was wondering how to install homebrew on it.
I don't know anything about Nintendo Switch homebrew but I have homebrewed a Wii U and 3ds. I can't find anything online about how to install homebrew on it only tutorials on how to install the mod chip. I would love to find a step by step video on how to install homebrew on my system.
If you have any questions feel free to ask me:D

The person that installed my mod chip said that it had to be programed so do I just follow this https://rentry.org/SwitchPayloadLaunch or do I need to do something else?
If it boots up after following this guide then you did everything correct and you should be running on CFW. Now you can start putting whatever homebrew apps you want into your SD card. You can find some common useful ones such as Edizon or JKSV here https://www.sdsetup.com/
You can follow other guides online to get more advanced stuff like emunand running if you want too ^_^

You only need this https://rentry.org/MarikoEmuNAND section to “program it”.

Your Switch is a Mariko and you will want to use emuMMC. Just follow the directions and read up on anything that isn’t crystal clear.
I will try it right now I don't want to brick my switch so I will follow all the directions and make sure I don't skip any

Do I need TegraRcmGUI? I was looking at other discussions and they used that
you do not, because you’re using a Mariko machine which isn’t susceptible to the RCM bug/hack. You are using a mod chip to glitch the machine instead. The modchip will get Hekate running for you So you can then select Atmosphere CFW. Everything you need is in the document linked above.

Did it turn on before?
Take the sd card out and try to boot. It should boot Hekate and then complain about the missing SDCard. Is that the case?
The guy said that hekate wan't installed and I had to install (program) it myself. Did that website tell me how to install it or do I need to do something else? He also said that it was a clone

Let me see and yes it turned on before I got it installed

Does it boot by itself now, after the chip was installed (and with no sd card in the slot)?

Perhaps he was talking about the firmware? They should have done this for you.

I’m assuming you have an HWFLY clone, in which case you will need to flash the following update to you chip: https://github.com/hwfly-nx/firmware

No he said that he only does the install and nothing else and it still doesn't boot

That’s odd. It’s a 30 second process if you already have the back panels off the Switch. Hmmm

The instructions to upgrade the firmware (and the firmware release itself for download) are located here: https://github.com/hwfly-nx/firmware

I used method a)

You will need to open up the back of your switch and take out the aluminum shield. There should be a USB port already attached. If not, then hopefully your installer handed you the adapter when he was done.

It needs to be plugged in to the white connecto at the bottom of the chip assembly. See attached drawing. I drew a black X with an arrow pointing to where the USB adaptor will be plugged in.

BE CAREFUL OF THE ORIENTATION OF THE USB ADAPTER.
you will break your chip if it;s upside down.

‘Send pictures if you are unsure.

Once you’ve got it plugged in, just follow the firmware upgrade steps in the firmware link above.

The side saying "up" should be facing you. If you accidentally plug it in upside down it won't damage it though.
I plugged it in and it lit up and when I ran flash.bat it said No device detected! and then the lights stopped. What is going on with it and why did the lights stop?
