You want the first partition to be 1024 megabytes. It must be on the disc that was in the Xbox. From another disk, the partition will not work. There is information for permission to run (my guess). If there are people who are well versed in the HEX editor, then you need to figure out what the key is and what it depends on. Or look for a way to reset the keys in the EFI of the Xbox itself.

Also apparently everytime that you install OSU1 it writes new keys to the drive. Found that out the hard way. The workaround is everytime that you install OSU1 just recopy the RAW partition and save it.

So, will a console without its original drive contents just not be fixable? Without a backup of the key partition its just perma-bricked?

Not sure, but one dev tried different drives, and one worked somewhat iirc, but all others, the console wouldn't boot. I'm not sure if a different, but same make and model drive was tried.

Hmm, guess I'll stick an original drive in and try a firmware recovery after partitioning with the script. Does it use the same part GUIDs and sizes the Xbox One used? Is GUID important? What about the bootanim file?

So no, a Series S|X without its original partition 0 is just perma-bricked, thanks Microsoft shitheads.
Well, the restrictions with Microsoft are a guarantee they'll never catch up with Sony. You'd think someone over there would be smart enough to realize that.

S/X has no onboard flash chip, the 1GB RAW partition serves as the euivalent of the onboard flash chip on the XB1, containing critical console firmware and kv/identity files. It is likely per-CPU encrypted using the CPU key as is on all MS consoles since the 360.
It is also likely to be version checked against CPU eFuses, meaning simply a backup would not work once the console has been updated. You need to back up the files every time there is an update or the console is toast as well.

Does anyone know if I clone a Seagate Storage Expansion Card to regular SSSD if the XSX will recognize tyhis SSD as a Storage Expansion?

It is actually not, it is a 1TB and 2TB SSD. They don't sell the adapter alone but the SSD included on it all together.

As we can see it is a 2280 3rd party SSD, not a CH SN530.

Xbox use CH SN530, just buy an official one if you were buying expansion slot card.
