Hacking Question How big is the possibility that there is another RCM exploit?

I mean, the new switch revisions might be immune to the rcm exploit but that does not mean that new vulnerabilities might not be present on them, be it software or hardware related.

However, i think that the focus now is on getting to boot the cfw in a non volatile way on the base model. That would be cool, but i think there's a lot of work to do to get to that point.

In what way is the current method of booting CFW on the base models "volatile?" Most developers are actually quite satisfied with the current exploit that they are less interested in finding any other exploits for any Switch model. So there is absolutely zero focus on getting CFW to boot on older models with another exploit.

I remember reading that it was fixed differently on v2 and Mariko but I can't find the information I'm looking for through Google or on SwitchBrew.
Marikos have it fixed differently compared to (most) patched eristas, yeah, it's still fully functional on both though. Most patched Eristas have an ipatch that fixes the bug in the bootrom's USB2 shit. Marikos (and some Eristas) use the XUSB controller for RCM instead of the USB2 one, which never had the issue to begin with.
