Following my observations:
I will NOT test an adult with a child, I have limits, even in simulations.
- Today morning, two characters wanted to marry their partner. The first one is a regular adult hetero couple with birth dates. The second one is a lesbian adult couple without a birth date.
- The lesbian couple acted like the proposing, PB, was the girl and the proposee, Marceline was the boy. The little game to tell the mii the right moment to speak talked about "her boyfriend" (in french), and Marceline had a costume for the marriage.
- A third proposal happened later today between two adults without a birth date.

OKAY update: the lesbian couple and the hetero couple without a birth date's datas got quite mixed...
actually, there are only two houses for married people. The one of the first (legit) mariage, and the house of the two proposers of the two marriages (lesbian and without birth date)! So right now I have four people in the same house, but I only can see two of them at a time (depending on their couple), and two of them are "at PB and Greg's house". What is very funny is that PB and Marceline don't like the other couple, and Greg can't be friend with Marceline (and I did not configure the friendship parameters at all, I only set couples).
Checking their profiles, the two girls are still each other's wife.
But the two proposers are... very cheerful.
I'm gonna change the save so they are in different houses but I'm afraid it's going to happen again every marriage.

so I sum up:

Alright, I got it to work on my mac. Exported the save using the latest ver. of Checkpoint. Edited a couple's marriage status to "not getting along", edited some favorite foods on a single mii & gave myself all the streetpass/spotpass hats and clothes. I tried restoring with Checkpoint and my game is now corrupted. I'll upload the txt to here. Sorry to be a bother, i'm just new to 3ds save edtiors. It's a USA save file

I am a user that owns the Japanese version of the game, I have written up a complete list of the Food IDs in the Japanese version.
A little note here though, if you set any food value somewhere above 220, it breaks your save file.
Also, if you reset a Mii's hunger, it will also break the save. Hope this helps!

Thanks to all people who have reported issues, I work on last version of Tomodachi Life Save Editor, Miitopia has been release on Switch and some people ask to have a save editor, I work on it too.
If you have troubles with interactions make sure you have use a recent save file, and respect all conditions.
I have less time to work on save editors, it will take times do all on this. Your save file can't be los,t just restore an old save file in Backup folder (Tomodachi Life Save Editor will make a backup before any changes).

So I’ve been trying to change the sex of my characters but whenever I change it from masculine to feminine or feminine to masculine and save it for each character and then save the file, my save file is always corrupted. There is one character who is masculine right now that I want to change to feminine. They are in a relationship with another feminine person and they have a best bud. Will that impact anything with my save file? I’m really confused why it isn’t working for me.

Changing Mii sex can cause some issue if they are already married or have a child etc.
You can test possibilities by testing one by one
You can restore a old save file, check backup folder in save editor location

Hey there, recently the save editor has been changing my mii's head shapes if i use it and it's really annoying. Is there a fix to this?
this isn't the perfect fix but this worked for me.
-editing relationships in 4.0.0 = corruption for me also-
I use version 3.0.8 to edit relationships & 4.0.0 for everything else. make multiple backups and test your save file by using citra before injecting the save back into your 3ds.
( i made two backups of the same file and tested one in citra.. if it works , i restore the other into my 3ds so I wont get the time change/streetpass warning thing)

also im using windows bootcamp rather than wine.
that's weird, I did it several times and it didn't glitch. but maybe it is related to already made relationships. But like I documented, it is possible to create a love relationship between two boys or two girls.
@Brion , is your next update going to allow the detailed editing of the miis's inventory? I would really appreciate to be able to remove some, because some characters are putting on clothes that I really regret I gave them, but I did because they asked me...
Also, if you have any idea concerning how the tastes and distastes work in a deeper way than the relationship and food "boards", I'm really interested

I saw that the child from my gay couple didn't recognize one of his dads as his dad, but was "unknown", and maybe it was this that caused my latest attempt to be corrupted. Can't check for the child of the two lesbians, since I sent him for streetpass.

Hey @Alegria! I wanted to know if this happened to you. When I married my gay couple they moved into their home at first I was able to look in their home with no problems but after I saved and tried to enter their home the whole game crashed. It didn’t matter whether they were in the home or not it would always crash. I just wanna know if it’s only me or other people have this problem too.

yes, I've had something similar and I hope you have some hetero couples already (if not maybe you could set them as married with the editor). I was able to solve it by sending the gay people in another house (in this menu). Sometimes the modification of the houses make it crashes, the rest of the time the gays don't have their own house, instead they're installed at the same spot as a hetero couple.
Meanwhile, still 4 houses, the fourth is still the house of the gay proposed and PB's and I can still sometimes see one of the couples, sometimes the other.
I tried once again to put the lesbians in house 4 and the gays in house 5, and this is what I see when I go to the houses, then the game froze. I opened the game a second time to take the screenshot and it froze again.

In save file you can't edit in detail Mii inventory (can delete, have some part or have all), I'll see if interaction work, thanks
So i added everything to the import shop to buy, and all seemed well until i get a little way down the list. once i get to a specific point in the list, the football uniform specifically, the game just crashes to the homescreen. The hats were fine.
it also ran into a fatal error after about 10 minutes of playing without accessing the import shop.
