Many of my Games are not working when I enable this Option....so I thought.

The "usual" Procedure:

- Choose a Game
- Settings
- set the emuNAND Option to "Partial"
- "Nand Emu Path" is set to "Use Global"
(At this Point my Nand Folder was located on the Root of the USB HDD as Folder "nand")

Today I made a "new" Nand Setup with USBLoader GX on the Root of the SD Card in the Folder "nand"

- Settings - Features -
"Dump NAND to EmuNand"
"Export Miis to EmuNand"
"Export SYSCONF to EmuNand"
"Export All Saves to EmuNand"
(There are Saves for the RiiConnect Channels/Wii Fit/WiiMod/WiiFlow/Homebrew Channel and that Kind)

The "emuNAND Save" Option is set to "Partial".
There is no Savegame on the real Wii Nand for this Games I have tried:
(An Excerpt)

- Spongebob Truth or Dare PAL
- Spongebob Squigglepants PAL
- Creature from the Krusty Crab NTSC
- Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles
- TETRIS Party Deluxe NTSC
- The Amazing Spider Man PAL
- The biggest Loser PAL
- Tom Clancy´s Ghost Recon NTSC
- Top Spin 4 PAL
- Truck Racer NTSC
- Western Heroes PAL

(If needed I can test more....)

They all resulted in a Black Screen / Wii freezed on the first Boot.
Then I changed the emuNAND Save Option to "OFF" and bootet the Games again.
Every single Game that has a black Screen before, works now (of course).

Before the Game Save Creation I have resetted the Wii back into USBLoader GX and
changed the emuNAND Option to "Partial" again.
Booted the Games again and SD Card Save works now.

But on the other Side,Games like

- Super Mario Galaxy 1-2 NTSC
- Super Paper Mario NTSC
- Wario Land Shake it NTSC
- Tales of Symphonia PAL
- Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll
- STAR TREK Conquest
- Sports Island PAL

(...and many more)

worked on the first Try.

So,the Question is,is this my own Fault,did I make something wrong ?:(
Do you have any Ideas ?
Suggestions ?

Thank you for your Time and Reading.:)

not all games are compatible with emunand saves.
MP3 is well known for not working with emunand save.
I have both "The Conduit" and "Condult 2" pause for a second on every check point.
The "Amazing Spider Man" starts to fail saving after 3rd or 4 mission.
The "last story" sometimes says save corrupted - until I switched to a class 10 SD card.
So may be card speed is a problem. - just my personal experience.

I knew only about Zelda and MP3.
Thanks for the other game list, I'll add them to the wiki ... one day.

@Alexander, Remember this:
- EmuNAND save doesn't need an actual NAND dump to work.
you can point to an empty folder, and it'll store/read/write Wii disc-based savegames on that folder instead of NAND.
"EmuNAND Save" set to partial redirects the \title\ folder on NAND to "emuNAND save path".

If you set to Full, it also redirect everything else, and expect to find the files on emuNAND, (mii, settings, cache, etc.), so a FULL dump is required to use FULL setting.
Partial doesn't.

- If you just dumped NAND, this is a full copy of your NAND, which already contains everything !
no need to dump Miis, sysconf, all saves again OVER the already dumped content.
Just a full NAND dump is enough.

Now, about your games NOT booting if no savegame were present on NAND :
maybe these games have issues with NAND redirection ?
Maybe they are still looking at NAND instead of EmuNAND.

1)
After the save exists on NAND, did you test if these problematic games you listed were properly saving to emuNAND?
Are they still saving to NAND even if Partial is enabled ?
play on NAND.
Play on emuNAND and save. be sure it's different than your first play on NAND.
disable emuNAND, launch the game again and check which savegame is loaded.

Edit:
1bis)
If partial doesn't save to emuNAND, but still does on NAND, try with FULL.
maybe it's an issue in USBGX? but no game would work at all if it was a setting issue. so we would have more report of emuNAND not working.

2)
I know some games had issues booting if no savegame folder existed, so USBLoaderGX creates an empty folder for that game on emuNAND at game boot.
Could you check if the folder is properly created?

- be sure there's no folder on emuNAND for that game.
- boot the game (black screen, right?)
- shutdown. Look at the emuNAND folders again on your computer and check if the folder has been properly created or not.
note: you need to know the titleID in hex to check it (or use ShowMiiWad)

Thank you for pointing me to that Direction,I will check it.:)

Why I have created such Thread ?
I remember on the Versions r1268 (I used it a very long Time before I updated directly to r1271/72,over 1 Year maybe) there was, except the 3 - 4 Games that are not working with emuNAND Saves, never a Issue with that.
("Some" has been "exposed" by my own Faults...)
So I was not sure if something has maybe change in the last Revisions or maybe I have overlooked something.

With your Points of Explanation I can live now, that "it is as it is".

Thank you.:)
