Hacking my usrcheats dont work on my R4

so i currently have the R4 card in the pic below i have it setup with ysmenu i have the usrcheat.dat file in the ttmenu folder on the root of the sd card i downloaded the proper ysmenu from this site. however when i load ysmenu by clicking the bomber-man icon on my dsixl i dont see an option for cheats i only see 2 check boxes what am i missing here also if it matters i dont see a settings option for the ysmenu

edit im using RGF's menu form 7.06

Do your games boot at all? Have you tried following the formatting instructions from Retro's thread?

@Lilith Valentine i have no idea what i did but i got the cheats working heres some info that might help you in case others have a similar issue

first thing i did was download the official kernel for my r4 cart and i put that on the root of my sd card i then took the files from the ysmenu RGF download that i got from this site and pasted the files from the R4I-SDHC folder from that download into the root of my sd card i then placed the usrcheat.dat file you gave me into the ys menu folder and voila it works with cheats now thanks for the help

i can only assume adding my official kernel was the issue that was missing idk tho

@Lilith Valentine can you look at these screenshots and tell me if i got it setup right as you can see i have ysmenu in my root but i also have an r4i folder in the root as the only way i could get cheats working was if i put my cards official kernel on the root as well

edit any idea if the time bomb is removed i have no way of knowing if ysmenu boots because when i turn on my ds it shows the bomberman game but then goes to a second menu that shows a controller if i click on the controller icon it will take me to the game menu where i can enable cheats and load ds games

The timebomb is part of the official kernel and was currently moved to somewhere in 2024, I think September. The official kernel seems like it's always going to have a timebomb that moves forward, but who knows how long that will last. My suggestion is to ask on Retro's thread and see If anyone there might know what's going on. I am a bit stumped and my only guess (and this is a guess) is to try making another folder called "YSMenu" and copying the content from the TTMenu folder into that folder and seeing what happens when you have both of those folders. It's a random guess at best but the most I can think of testing.

    @Lilith Valentine heres my last update for this thread i got it all sorted out turns out i didnt have the official kernel for my card installed on the sd card and without that cheats refused to work so i installed the kernel alongside ysmenu and chats work and time bomb is gone thanks for your help
