Hi!

So its been many years since I used my Wii U. I'm running Haxchi and Mocha CFW.
Currently self isolating in a hotel, where the wifi is an open connection - no password required.
I'm wondering if its possible to connect to the internet while I'm here - I also followed a recommendation to change a bunch of settings to block updates and change my FW to say something like 99.99.99.
However, I believe I'm on 5.5.2. Is there a way to wipe these settings? I also tried another recommendation which was to find the IP from my laptop, add 10 to the last digit, and manually configure details like the DNS. No such luck.

Would love to get back to being online, considering I'm here for a while.
Also wondering if I need to update and if its safe to do so.

Thanks in advance!

If the hotel wifi is using a captive portal, I would suggest spoofing your computer’s MAC address to match your Wii U’s, and authenticating via the hotel page on the laptop. Usually the hotspot stores the MAC to identify authorized clients, so after doing it once from the laptop, the Wii U should be able to connect.

The 99.99.99 thing is just a visual overwrite from being in CFW, shouldn’t affect anything else.
