Apperently SCAT reminds me of the Angry Video Game Nerd Bad Game Cover Art video of the boxart of the PAL version (Action in New York) and the Japanese version (Final Mission) has Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sigourney Weaver lookalikes.

Nice, Mario's Super Picross is a classic. I just love Picross games in general. A perfect game to have on the go, although the DS and 3DS offerings have spoiled us with the comfort of the stylus ;)
S.C.A.T. looks really cool, I've never seen or heard about it before.
DKC2 is DKC2.
And the beat-em-ups aren't my favourite genre in general. I only like a select few and think the others feel samey :P
Please tell me Scott pilgrim is one of the few

I hate to be "that guy" but these releases are a little meaningless they put pressure on rom sites to get shut down just to give us crumbs per month. They need to do a full release of SNES/NES and work on GBC/GBA/N64/Gamecube online considering from 3D All Stars N64 and Gamecube can be emulated. To combat piracy they need to provide good service and this isn't it. SNES games are over 20 years old and NES games are pushing 30 years old they should have already by now figured out the license agreements and etc and just release it as complete. The only thing SNES or NES online has over the emulators are the nice cover art that's about it. I'm sorry but to praise this is not worth it when PSNES can give you much better experience

What is the goal of Picross i never understanded that game
fill in the squares on the grid based on the numbers on the top and side of it to create a picture, if you love puzzles then it might peak your interest but I can understand why people wouldn't really be super excited about it
they posted a video on how it works...probably cause the game lacks a tutorial though I'm not sure

Hard to explain in a few words but it's one of the most addictive puzzle genres I know.
It is somehow comparable to Minesweeper and Sudoku in a way.
Basically you want to find "good blocks" without hitting "bad blocks" (mark them with an x instead) and when you found all good blocks they form a little pixel art picture.

Example:
The grid is a 10 x 10 grid.
Next to the first row you find two numbers: 7 and 2
That means that 7 ongoing (connected) blocks in this row are good blocks and another 2 as well but between such numbers there must be at least one bad block.
Since 7 good blocks plus 1 bad block plus 2 good blocks make 10, you know how you have to mark the first row:

█ █ █ █ █ █ █ X █ █

I guess any tutorial is better than reading about the rules. :D

Can't recommend that old SNES game though. Picross on 3DS or Switch are way better. Nothing beats the pen of the 3DS. ;)

No one out there can provide a legal full release of any romset for any system because of publishing rights / licences. This will never happen.
Why would some company like Capcom ever allow another company like Nintendo to throw out all SNES versions of Street Fighter? They are printing money with their thousand rereleases and "classic collections", because they are the only way to enjoy Street Fighter on a Switch from a legit point of view.
It's cool that they offer some NES and SNES games for the Switch (it really is) but it never beats the experience of having the full romset and RetroArch on the sd card of your CFW enabled Switch. ;)

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
