I tried playing Thor God of Thunder (the DS version) on my r4 and kept getting the same problem. The gameplay is extremely delayed. The screen freezes for a second every time you press a button and there is slowdown when there's a lot of action on the screen, which makes the game really unpleasant to look at, let alone play. This issue shouldn't occur. I copied the rom several times (I tried downloading it from different sites too) to my r4 and the same thing kept happening. I have the latest kernel installed and the rom works just fine on Desmume. I've played several games on my r4 with little to no issues. Does anyone know what causes this and how to play it properly on the r4?

like a 250 dollar kit back when DDR4 was Intel only
