Yup its working!
I just downloaded USA save file and i'm using it with my EUR backup (rom).
DS save files are definitely NOT region locked and no reverse engineering is required afaik.

So this is what you got to do:
I searched for save file for some time (hard to find it) and only one that I found is this: https://www.thetechgame.com/Downloads/id=32663/mario-hoops-3-on-3-ds-game-save.html
You need to make an account to download it though (i made it).

Once you download the file from the website, unZIP it. It will be in .DUC format! Not usable for DStwo!

So once downloaded it, go here to convert it to format that DSWtwo can use it (.sav): https://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php

Click "browse" to upload your downloaded .duc save file,
and set "Source Format:" field to: "Action Replay Max DS (.duc / .dss)"
and set "Target Format:" to: "Acekard 2 | Cyclone........Supercard SD | Top Toy DS (.sav)"

See the picture below
:
LGSp1XW.png

Than click "convert" and after that, download your newly converted file "mario hoops 3on3.sav" file (or whatever its called).
It's a USA save file with everything 100% unlocked (i tested it).

Than connect your SD card from DSTWO, to your PC,
and go to where your game is located, and put
"mario hoops 3on3.sav" file you converted in same folder as
"Mario Slam Basketball.nds" rom is, and just rename it from
"Mario Slam Basketball.nds" to "mario hoops 3on3.nds". (same as that .sav file is)

Put SD to DSTWO, plug DSTWO to DS, and play! :)

I made this already

Sorry Idk why the message wasn't send..

Which files do you mean I have more than 5 files for even the EU Version and US Version most of them are .duc and .sav
I don't think .duc files can be read by dstwo.
You need to convert them in .sav format in order to work on dstwo.

Oh!
Yes, yes that is correct. Only change game file to whatever save game is name. Its still European game, just named differently.

Its a good thing DS saves arent region locked.

By the way, you can rename it whatever you want tbh, but the MAIN THING is
that game and save file are named EXACTLY the same, except extensions (.nds and .sav) of course, those are file types not file names!

You can call them "Super mario the dude" lol but the save and nds files MUST be named exactly the same. That's the main thing.
That's the completely wrong way of going about it. Rename the save to match the ROM, not the other way around. Why mislabel the game as USA when it's EUR? The filename doesn't matter to the DS, all that matters is that the two are named the same and the save is in raw format.
Look at the pictures
I may be wrong but I think .dtc is a real time save, which is loaded using the in game DSTWO menu. Definitely will only work on the same region and version of the game though.

And what should I do now? O.o

Rename it the same as the ROM (and use the same region ROM) but keeping the .dtc extension, open the ingame menu (L+R+Start but make sure game patching is on and clean mode is off) and see if you're able to load it.
Or use a .sav save you can find, which should work with any region.

The point was that it doesnt matter what region the save is, it will work on any game version.
For example, if you have usa save you can use european game and it will work, and as for naming its not work cause i just did it and it works. And another point was that it doesnt matter how you name the files as long as they are named exactly the same .sav and .nds

Basically you said all that i said in more precise way. Thank you.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Just make sure .sav file you downloaded and .nds file are the same name. That's it?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Then use the USA game.
He doesn't need to use different region game, it's all the same.

I sent you the link earlier of the save game. I tested it and am using it as we speak.
Here ill send you again.

OK, so... IF you DON'T know how to do this, than lets go step by step.
First step, download the Mario hoops save file from the link below, and when you have it on your desktop reply to me here and we can go to step 2. Ok?

Here's the link of the game save file:

If he is using a .dtc RTS save, they need to be the same region. Otherwise it shouldn't matter, but he clearly can't get it working, so I'm not sure what to suggest, maybe he will have more luck with the .dtc save.

Oh, one thing, do you have displaying extensions for known file types enabled in Windows? Otherwise, you might inadvertently be naming the save .sav.sav which wouldn't work. Send a screenshot of the folder with the renamed save and ROM if you're unsure, so we can make sure they're named correctly.

Step 1: Download the GAME SAVE FILE in .duc format

_____________________________________________________________________________________
Step 2: Convert it with THE CONVERTER from .duc to .sav
(make the same settings as you see in the picture below)

____________________________________________________________________________________
Step 3: Place your newly converted file (.sav) on to DStwo microSD card, inside a folder where all your games are.

______________________________________________________________________________________
Step 4: Rename the save file you JUST copied over to your games folder, so that it has the EXACTLY THE SAME NAME as your Mario basketball game is called (whatever that is). Just the name, not extension .sav or .nds.
(see the picture below)

75h8GsN.png

NOTE: The most important part to know is that the name it self doesn't matter, what's important is that both .sav and .nds files have exactly the same NAME, like in the picture example above!

So for example you will have two files:
Mario Kart.nds (the game file)
Mario Krt.sav (the save file)
Notice that these two has EXACTLY THE SAME NAMES except .nds and .sav

___________________________________________________________________________
Step 5: Play the game!

The only problem that I have is that I have so many files:

Ideally you will only need two of those files. You have the ROM ('mariohoops 3on3.nds' in your first picture) and a save file with the same name but extension .sav.

If that save file doesn't work or isn't at the right point in the game, you could try the other .sav files - delete the 'mariohoops 3on3.sav' file from your flashcart's microSD card and copy one of the other .sav files in its place, renaming that file to 'mariohoops 3on3.sav'.

You don't need the .dtc file - https://gbatemp.net/threads/whats-this-file-type.292415/ says it is the settings file the DSTwo creates to record whether you have cheats turned on &c.

I haven't personally come across .duc saves as I haven't used an Action Replay Max DS, but as @MetoMeto says above, you can convert it to the .sav format the DSTwo wants, if none of the .sav ones you downloaded are satisfactory.

Which one should I delete and which one rename?
