Just played it mission one played perfectly fine if not a little fast compared to the Neo-Geo original. Mission 2 has no enemies or hostages to rescue so you can't progress any further as no boss to beat at the end of the mission.

Edit if you just stand around at the end of mission 2 eventually it says level complete and mission 1 starts again and has enemies ect lol

Do we know what timeframe this was in?

16.8 megs for a download would have meant an expensive 32 megabyte card but I don't know if they would struggle that much to get it down below 16 megs like most other games did/went in for.
Edit.
http://www.advanscene.com/ advanced search (put 256 in the size option and click on GBA) says 109 titles and most of those were 2 in 1 titles, GBA videos or some Japan only stuff.
544 on the other hand are 128Mbit/16 megabyte.
There are just shy of 2800 commercial GBA releases.

Thanks for sharing either way. Metal Slug was never really my thing but I can certainly respect it and I would possibly have missed this otherwise.

This could be around 18th May 2005. There are some pics on a old german gaming website.

That is reasonably late in the day. If we are sticking with Germany though then "2 in 1 - Pferd & Pony - Mein Pferdehof + Lass Uns Reiten 2" (a 2 in 1 horse game of a semi popular series for such things) managed to be 256Mbit apparently and to squeak out in 2007 in Germany so it is not like a 2001 or 2002 attempt at it all.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
