SX Core and SX Lite being shipped to reviewers and testers, retail packaging revealed

SXCoreSXLite.png

TX have today announced they have shipped out samples of both their SX Core and SX Lite modchips to the previously selected reviewers and testers.[prebreak][/prebreak]
  • SX Core is compatible with all Switch regular models, whether they are Mariko, patched or unpatched.
  • SX Lite is for all Switch Lite.
  • All firmwares are supported for both regular and lite versions.
  • SX OS license is included with both models.
As we indicated before, both products require soldering. With the help of that large panel of reviewers, we will finetune installation diagrams, correct any bug they might encounter so you have a great experience with our product from day 1.

We are proud of the hard work behind these products and we also can't wait to ship to retailers so all Team Xecuter supporters can enjoy a fully unlocked Switch regardless of the model they have.

If you can solder, we recommend placing your preorder now as demand will be massive (but don't worry, just for May we have already large stocks ready to ship).

If you are not comfortable with soldering, please wait for a installer near you to receive stocks so he can install it for you. Installers will also offer pre-installed consoles so you have all ready at once if you do not own a Switch yet.
Unfortunately for the less experienced modders, some soldering will be required, but we should hopefully have more information as reviewers and testers receive their samples. Until then, TX reminds you to stay safe and get ready to enjoy, releasing some exciting pictures of the retail packaging!

Does Atmosphere supported?
Yes and No. Like other payloads, it can in theory Just Work(tm) on patched consoles, but will have to be updated for Mariko hardware.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

what is a mariko switch
The newer Switches that use the Nvidia t210b01 soc, which is a die shrunk version of the t210 (which was used in the old Switches) and as a result is vastly more efficient, using significantly less power (and allowing higher clocks, although said higher clocks won't be usable in HOS afaik), it also adds support for newer hardware (ex. LPDDR4X), and greatly improved security.

I bought the mariko switch back in September and barely used it. Literally collecting dust right now. I'll admit, it was a bit of an impulse buy. Buying it early sort of paid off I guess considering the difficulty in finding one and the jacked up prices from resellers. Even then, I dont think Ill be playing the switch anytime soon.

So Ill give it a few months before buying and attempting this mod. Great news.

Oh wow that’s awesome. Only question I have is are these detectable by ninty? Like can users end up setting up emuNAND like we can on unpatched switch’s? Hope to see this be the case.

I bought mine back in october and was kinda disappointed that my switch is not hackable ( I should have been checked what switches are hackable and what are not ).
And I have been waiting for this chip from november 2nd (look at my reg date ) when I found out that tx are developing smt.
And I hope this chip will be awesome exploit
Finally I will have the opportunity to play ps 1 and psp games on switch ( besides other functions that cfw allows to do )

Too soon to tell, but probably the answer is YES.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this one. I've never had a Switch that could be softmodded. I never really had an interest because my kids used the Switch so much, they rubbed the cushioning on the circle pads off, and it just pissed me off when I tried to play it. Now that I have a Switch Lite they're not allowed to touch, I figured if I ruin it, they went be out a console.

I spent a lot of my teenage years chipping PS1s and 2s, and I swore I wouldn't chip again after the PS2 era gave me grey hairs, but I'm older and (hopefully) wiser now. It seems I'll have plenty of time to learn the ins and outs of the scene I wait for the chip to ship.

I don’t get it, we still don’t have diagrams of how to solder this thing ?

Not yet. Reviewer/Test units are being shipped now. Once they get them there should be some videos. Exact install instructions may differ if beta testers find a better way to install than what they already have put together.

I'd say if you think you want one, preorder it now. If it's above your level you can always resell it. From what it sounds like there may be quite a back order of them once everything is all set up because of demand.

Pre-ordered mine from nx-card[dot]com, but seems they've folded?
website just has 'account suspended' holding page :(
only chose them cause they were on the approved re-seller list on TX site, should have stuck with axiogame :(

That's rough. I do know that those guys have been around for a LONG time though. My guess is they will get back online through a different provider... I doubt you'll end up getting screwed.

i'm not good with soldering so i am more excited for other hackers to use this hardware mod to explore software solutions..

i am tempted to buy a pre-modded switch now if they are not crazy expensive.

I wonder if you can install emunand with this and then toggle the modchip off, in order to play legit games online.

I bet when people realize they have to solder this thing in, a lot of people are going to be seeking refunds. Not good for team Xecuter or the resellers.

Soldering in is a lot more complicated than just clipping a few pins into place. That is going to change things considerably.

True. I think a clearer response of it being solderless should have been made prior to opening pre orders. I'm fine with it personally.

I doubt they'll receive huge backlash depending on the availability of installers/difficulty to install.

But there are guys that can do soldering for us right?
