Noob here.

I'm looking for some clarification on where I stand with my Switch. At this point I am not banned and, of course, I would like it to stay that way. I recently updated my firmware with choidujournx to 9.2.0 and enabled autoRCM. Before this I would use sysNAND to update my games and firmware, and boot into Atmosphere when I wanted to edit my save file in Pokemon. I never set up an emuNAND and now I'm wondering what sort of bread crumb trail I've left and how to proceed from here.

Using Briccme I learned that I have 9 burnt fuses. I have my pre-cfw NAND and boot0/boot1 but I don't know if I can restore them due to my fuse count. I can enter RCM with a jig so I'd like to disable autoRCM and be able to safely connect online while being able to run cfw to perform an exploit here and there, which points me toward setting up an emuNAND. Is it too late to do this? Have I accidentally installed cfw on my sysNAND with no chance to go back?

Some advice on my options would be appreciated. I can provide more information if this wasn't enough.

I was able to mod my switch successfully. I edited my breath of the wild save using Checkpoint to transfer the save and I now have discovered that the modded save only shows up when booting into CFW (EMUMMC). If I boot the system into Stock (SYSNAND) then my save is still the unmodded one. Is there a way to have the modded save work in Stock or will it only work in CFW?

Hi
I did a silly mod of replacing the e-label with a random pic
Rn I'm using CFW offline for one specific thing, and when I'm done I'll restore a clean dump I made right before loading Atmosphere.
The deal is, has Nintendo any way to know something has changed in the Prodinfof part and get me banned for it¿ (Like, if for whatever reason I wanted to do that thing in the clean NAND ;p)
PRODINFO should never be modified neither by hackers nor Nintendo. As long as your dump it clean and you have been offline since you made the dump, then you will be fine.
Hi,

I want to update my patched switch from 8.1.0 (AMS 0.9.2) to play Animal Crossing, there are a lot of tutorials but I cant find one specifically for ipatched switch and I dont want to brick it. Can anyone explain me what I have to do to update it, please.

Thank you!
Setup emuMMC then update it with ChoiDujourNX.

For what does tinfoil homebrew applications need access to NAND/cal0 vie the ams_mitm.kip
The reason DZ requires the kip is because it wants to install Incognito.

Eh, this may be kinda technical for a noobie thread but I'll ask anyway, maybe someone can offer some insight. I am looking at 1TB SD cards and found this one:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...qxa1_1t00_an6ma_extreme_microsd_1tb_card.html

Do you think it would work ok with the switch? I don't know much about read/write speeds.
As long as the SD card is not fake, you will be fine. However it is difficult to tell if a card is fake or not before buying it.

As long as the console is not patched, you can run any firmware on the console thanks to Fusee Gelee. Therefore you can restore your pre-CFW backup as well as BOOT0/BOOT1. You just have to boot through RCM in order to bypass the fuse check so it might be wise to enable AutoRCM after restoring everything. After you have updated the firmware, you can disable AutoRCM. However before restoring those, setup emuMMC so all of your save data and games will carry over to emuMMC.

You have to either inject or modify the save file into sysMMC.

How do I know if my Switch is patched?

Thanks for information!

Just use Awoo Installer instead. Its much more user friendly and has less bullshit.

Why are there so many fake SD cards? Don't stores know where they're ordering from? It seems crazy.

Has anyone who uses NS-USBLoader ever experienced an issue where you cannot select files in the GUI after installing .nps's? I kept having this issue with Smash Bros and had to reinstall Java to fix it.

Complete noob here :) - any help much appreciated - thank you!

I have 2 switches

  • 1 brand new switch now primary console running 9.2 updated - 1 old - now de-registered as primary console to running old 6.02 firmware
  • Both switches have 128mb micro SD cards
  • Managed to install newest atmosphere 0.10.3 on the older switch that I want as a dedicated homebrew machine
  • What are my best options here?
I managed to get to launch screen - I have options to use

  • cfw -sysnand
  • cfw - emunand
  • cfw - stock
My Questions?...

Which of the 3 options should I use? Do I still need to create a partition as video suggests (I guess I do if I want to use different cfw such as sx-os in future?

Can I connect to internet normally on my home-brew switch when using cfw? I have no wish to ever use stock firmware / connect to eshop etc on older switch - as I said I want to use older switch solely as a dedicated cfw / home-brew only Switch

Should/ Can i choose to auto-boot into atmosphere? Or is this a bad idea - say I want to use different such as SXS OS CFW in the future?

Many thanks and any help and / or suggestions is very much appreciated - please nothing too complicated as I am at my limits here... (basically following the videos )

Hi there.
I got switch with FW 8.1 and atmosphere. I want to update to new fw (animal crossing...) but i want to do things in easy way. So...am i right in following these steps:

1. Download latest version of atmosphere (0.10.5) and put it in the sd card, deleting the folder of the previous version.
2. Download latest version of hekate and made the same thing as step 1.
3. Download ChoiDujourNX and put it in the sd card.

What are the steps for installing them (example: on emummc first? or not)?

Another question: i want to use a game card too, ive to setup some ini file or the gc works as default in fw 9.2 and atm 0.10.5?

Dunno it there's a easy tutorial to follow...

Thanks in advance.

Correct me if im wrong wouldn't the patched switches(ones that just show a black screen upon payload inject) (is that ipatched or the Mariko?) just needs current RCM pay loads to be run from a different memory address?
Or is there something that was changed to RCM mode?

  • Do not follow video guides. Anyways, you would need to partition the SD card for emuMMC if you want to use emuMMC. Whatever option you want to use is up to you
  • Going online with a hacked console can result in a ban
  • Personally, I do not like autoboot as you lose out on the unique features in Hekate. Its also only useful for booting just one profile. If you want to boot any other modes, you have to manually do it anyways
  • Follow this text-based guide instead

You can update emuMMC or sysMMC in any order. However updating to firmware 9.0 introduces an update to the cartridge slot. This update is irreversible and prevents you from using cartridges on firmware versions below 9.0. To prevent this update, the nogc patch is used which prevents you from using cartridges on firmware versions 9.0 and higher. Effectively, you have to choose whether you want to use cartridges on firmware versions below or above 9.0.

The bootrom of patched consoles are unable to accept any unsigned payloads.

Just got android up and running. Paired perfectly with the joycons. Loving it!

Question is, how would I go about remapping the "Home" button on the joypad? It defaults to the actual android home but I'd like it to be the guide button for Steam (essentially opening the overlay in game, etc etc).

Any way to do that? Using the fix-joycon.zip flashed file to fix the analog sticks already, if that matters.

Ok...in this case i dont see any problems to update fw if the gc can run above 9.0. Cartridges that works on fw below9.0, works on 9.1 or 9.2 right? If i understand right, its not a problem at all: am i missing to know something about that ?

Just know that when you update the cartridge slot on a firmware of 9.0 or higher, if you ever decide to downgrade, you will not be able to use cartridges on firmware versions below 9.0

Accept meaning won't boot them or it won't even let a payload sending program send it? Because mine won't boot the payloads but its definitely not a model with the new battery either so I'm not sure what kind of patch was done was trying to find info on what the difference is between the ipatched and other patched versions.

iPatched units are identical to the unpatched consoles except for the fact that they are immune to Fusee Gelee. Programs can try sending payloads but the console will never accept them. The Mariko units have a completely different bootrom that were already manufactured to be unexploitable via Fusee Gelee.

I'm trying to set up CFW for the first time on my Switch and after partitioning the microSD Windows says it needs to be formatted and won't let me add any files to it, but the official guides all say to not format it without explaining what to do instead. What should I do now?

Even though I have installed all the current updates, I have a couple of installed titles that still gives me the pop-up message to update when I launch them. I figure it just has something to do with how the updates were ripped or something.

Is there anyway CFW or homebrew that might let me disable those pop-ups?
