The Sonic movie's theme song is called "Speed Me Up", and is performed by Wiz Khalifa

When we first saw the original trailer to the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, it featured the song Gangsta's Paradise, playing alongside the horrifying creature that was CGI-Sonic. Now, with Sonic having a visual overhaul, it appears that the movie's theme song has been changed as well. There's a new theme song in town, called Speed Me Up, performed by rapper Wiz Khalifa. It's accompanied by a music video, which has multiple references and homages to the Sonic series, both in its lyrics and its visuals. It won't be much longer until the movie finally releases, on February 14th.

Red dude sounds like he got curb stomped and his jaw never recovered.

Overall terrible theme song. Song being a bit of a stretch. More like autotuned garbage.

Cute animations though.
I disagree only on the cute animations bit

The pixelated rappers looked horrible - who made this crap pixel art

Mumbly, auto-tuned talking. Is this rap? It's just kind of cringey to me, but I'll listen to it a few more times. Sometimes it takes a while. But It ain't no sunflower, that's for sure.

Buuuut it's better than just using whatever popular 90s music is available to them.
Licensed music is generally bad, much like licensed video games. To answer your question though, it's basically mumble rap.

They ruined any chance of this crappy movie being any good when they made the horrifying Sonic monstrosity basic as f*uck and now they made it even worse by getting that awful rapper involved. Oh well.

I'll give my honest opinion and say that the song itself was pretty good.
Fitting? I don't think so. That's the stuff I'd listen to if I were playing Sonic after smoking a bowl.

This post may be somewhat wrong, I'm quite drunk as I am posting this.

Kinda corny walking around with sonic singing. 2020 sonic music video with modern pop stars should be sad and in your face All the screwed up parts of society that have manifested themselves from sonic Fandom should be mentioned

Speed me up from the movie theather because i rather be home and watch Up than watch this.
Jokes aside, this movie looks OK. And this theme song is so bad i would prefer if they just used Gangsta Paradise.

That's one way to waste 2:50 (I couldn't make it to the end of the "song"). Clown with the glasses and literal tin foil on his grill looks like Beans from Even Stevens doing whatever he can to get beat up by the neighborhood bully. Dude looks like his mom took him back to school shopping and he had to get bargain bin urban fashion and did it all in a hurry to make it to his $4.99 haircut appointment.

I didn't mind "Gangsta's Paradise". I don't remember anybody complaining about this. I consider this a downgrade. Maybe studios think, "well, we have to fuck something up.".

Doesn't feel like a SONIC song, still. But either way, they wanted to include a hip hop track no matter what.

Sonic and rap, and mumbling, it doesn't fit at all, I always hated mumble rap, sound like someone eating a chicken and spitting all over the place.

They should have stick with rock as a theme.
