Hello,

I have searched the forums and google on how to update my switch to the latest firmware.I can't seem to find anything, and I have never upgraded my cfw at all,but need to in order to use certain apps and whatnot.

I have chudijourdx installed but never used it. Is there a guide on how to update, and what I need? I use atmosphere as the cfw. Any help or pointing in the right direction is appreciated!!!!

So I installed 9.0.1 in choidujourdx. After the "reboot" it is just frozen on a black screen. The backlight is on so I know the system is powered. I plugged it into my pc to reinject, after the initial boot screen, it is also still stuck on the empty black screen.

I checked my sd card and no errors found, nothing appears corrupted. Any idea what I need to do to fix this? I updated my atmosphere folders to the latest release and all that. So everything "should" be up to date.

Update your Atmosphere and patches

I did this I believe. I downloaded the lastest atmosphere release. The sigpatches too. and replaced the folders/files on my sd card. After doing this, when I inject the payload. I am still getting stuck at a black screen after the initial boot screen pops up.

Its possible I am missing something else besides the above. Maybe there is still a file i need to replace or update besides this. If that is the case I just have no idea what it could be. I just double check even and everything from the newest atmosphere folders and all thathave been replaced on the sd card yet still stuck on the black screen.

When installing 9.1.0 on choidujour, I did that first, and didnt yet replace the files I thought choi had to be used first. If that was wrong let me know. I appreciate all the responses and helping meout

Did you select 9.1.0 or 9.1.0 exfat when you did it in Choi.
If you didn't choose Exfat version and were previously using Exfat, the Switch will not read the SD Card after boot because the ExFat drivers aren't installed.

Use a spare Fat32 SD Card and boot into Atmo and redo the firmware update with ExFat chosen, then pop the other SD back in. That should do it!

This is exactly what happened to me!
I tried to boot up with a FAT32, the whole thing is now stucked at the nintendo Boot Logo. Tips? Thanks mate!

!! UPDATE !!

Got it! Wrong files, trial and error.

1. Format FAT32
2. Copy all data and fix the right Update to Exfat
3.BOOM!

Thanks!

Ok, thank you so much. Making progress!!! I did forget to choose the exfat so i redid the install with a spare sd card

Did all of this, it now attempts to boot fully. I amnow getting error 2162-0002 at the end of the boot. I believe this means I have old themes. I went and deleted the themes folder. My atmosphere titles also doesnt have a 1000d folder to delete. Are the themes anywhere else, or is there more to the error message? This appears to be the last roadblock before its done. Thanks again youve been super helpful

Atmosphere/titles is now atmosphere/contents. You will find the themes folder inside the contents folder. Delete the 0100000000001000 folder (that's the one for themes) and see if that helps.
