Homebrew Question Aliminium Foil not installing updates completely?

The progress bar just stops midway for some update nsps. For example, The Cave Story update nsp is 260MB and the progress bar stopped halfway. Now if I look in the Switch data management, it shows that the update is only 130MB.

What is going on?

OG Tinfoil + Aluminum Foil are deprecated. Use NS-USBloader + Awoo Installer instead.

Did you checked at least if those updates are working?
Some updates includes not only update, but also delta files used by eshop to update previous update instead of downloading whole patch. But when you will try to install it not officially, then tools will always take full update and ignore deltas. That's why you can have updates installers bigger than updates in real.

Does it happen all the time or did it just start happening out of nowhere? If anything else fails reinstall your sigpatches. NS-USBloader + Awoo Installer or Tinfoil + NUT have been the gold standard for a bit now. Goldleaf also works for some people. Is Atmosphere/CFW up to date? Did you have a previous update already and Aluminum Foil just ignored the previous installations? Press + on the game in the home menu to check if the update is installed. It'll show you the version number of the game so you know the update works. Good luck.
