Hi, i've finally bought a gameboy micro from eBay and it looks to be in good condition. I have been doing a bit of sniffing around this website recently, but realised i have been around this website for years looking at different tips and tricks. I finally decided to join as a member, so thought i would post a quick Hi!

I've also just purchased an EZFlash Omega Orange and hope that it doesn't suffer with the game save issue that causes the saves to get lost. It sounds like a few people have had this issue.

I will update once it arrives and i get a chance to test it.

Unfortunately, I doubt that it won't have the save issue that literally everyone else who owns an Omega has had.
I do have a tip for minimizing the risk of saves getting corrupted.

Create save files (.sav for gba / .esv for everything else) for all of your games and put them in the SAVER folder.

Awesome! Thanks for replying... do the .gba and .sav files need to be in the same folder? Or can they still be read in the SAVER folder?

I'm the only one without save issues with the Omega?

I have an idea.

EDIT: I have created a poll to see how much people have had save issues with the Omega on the GBA Flashing Hardware and Software subforum.

My GBA Micro has arrived, but i'm still waiting for the Omega. I guess i will have to wait until after the holidays now.

What is the secret to the saving issue? :)

That sounds like good advice... and i think it says that in the user guide.

Fast turn off console or reset game when saving and fast exit emulator will cause the data damaged and microSD card FAT error. that's why you encounter the error code above.

Once my Omega turns up, i will test it and see if there are any issues.

Thanks for replying!!! :D:gba:

Great idea!!!

Might also be worth checking the versions of kernel.... not sure whether the latest patch resolves any of these issues. K106 FW7 seems to resolve a freezing issue, but the saving issue could be how the saves get written to microSD from cache. And i guess unless they rewrite the code, that probably isn't going to change. Could be limitations in the microSD

Just don't try to play gb and/or gbc games on the Omega and do not forget to count to 5 after a safe before you turn the gb off! The implementation of the goomba emulator on the Omega is garbage! It is actually capable of corrupting the sd card by simply starting any game it is not capable of running properly (and those are plenty) ... since i handle my Omega that way i haven't had any problems at all!
