Hi there,

Didn't think modding the switch could be so frustrating.

I'm running latest release of Kosmos+Atmosphere for ofw 9.0.1. I've installed TinFoil and also installed the usb driver linusbK or w.e. I booted up TinFoil, and then NUT on the PC. Tried to install an NSP file but it would show the game in Queue. 41/mbps i think but 0.0% for a good 10 minutes so I figured its not installing so I tried to delete it from queue, nope didn't work. So I exited TinFoil, tried to open it back up but it says its been successfully shut down. I restart the switch boot using emuMMC and now TinFoil doesn't work at all.

It says "Corrupted data has been detected. Please run a check for corrupt data". So I do. It says MicroSD data is corrupted.

I delete it from file management and then I delete TinFoil from SD card. I re-add TinFoil using the latest release package again but same issue, does not open data is corrupted.

I honestly don't know what to do anymore and reddit keeps deleting my posts lol.

*edit more info*:
I am using FAT32, 128gb sd. Partitioned.

1st partition about 80 something gb for the switch
2nd partition about 30.2 gb for the emuEMMC

any suggestions?

thanks

Can you launch homebrew at all? Methinks the title you are using to launch homebrew got corrupted.

My googling my suck today. I googled Caribbean tin foil Nintendo switch and couldn't find that subreddit? I typed in Caribbean directly and it took me to a Caribbean subreddit that has nothing to do with Nintendo switch of course =)

Could someone give me a bigger hint please or the URL?

haha me neither. But, I've abandoned TinFoil.

I'm using gcdumptool + Goldleaf + Quark (same developer for Goldleaf and Quark, Quark replaced Goldtree) to install from PC to Switch since i have FAT32 card this helps immensely and I don't need to split the large games into separate files. Note that Goldleaf author does not support piracy so if you're hoping to pirate games you may run into some issues (like not being able to install the NSP).

This method works great for me, what I do is

  1. I start with gcdumptool to dump my game cards into NSP (if for whatever reason NSP fails to dump correctly then I use XCI and convert the XCI into NSP with 4nxci). I put the NSP files on my desktop and remove from my SD card.
  2. I go back to my Switch and I boot up Goldleaf tap on the PC option and connect usb-c from Switch to PC.
  3. Open up Quark on my PC and they'll auto connect.
  4. On the Switch I'll see the NSP files I want to install, tap, and install. If for whatever reason Goldleaf won't install it due to some anti-piracy msg because I didn't export the NSP/XCI files properly then I contemplate whether I want that game and decide to carry the game card with me when I travel or not lmao.

And that's it.
Some troubleshooting:
  1. Make sure USB is connected after going into PC option on Goldleaf because it will be unresponsive if you do it before. If you do this by accident disconnect the USB and it should "unfreeze", if not restart Switch
  2. if you decide to stick to Goldleaf as well and at one point you run into a problem where installations were fine before but then suddenly the installation freezes (so not an anti-piracy msg, it proceeds to install but freezes, or you can still navigate around but are unable to action anything and the install is still in queue but not installing), with everything still running simply pull the usb cable out the pc-usb port and plug it into another port and let Quark reconnect (do not close Quark) and it should re-engage the install...works for me anytime I run into that problem.

I am running ofw 9.0.1, and whatever recent release that supports 9.0.0 from kosmos+atmos. Hope this helps.
