In this case I would assume the battery died while it was soaked and that you'll need at the very least a new battery. CR2032 is a very common battery type. What you should also do is to completely open it to get to the printed circuit board , remove the battery and clean the PCB with contact cleaner and a tooth brush , or with rubbing alcohol if you don't have contact cleaner and then let it dry. Soap and other debris might have been lodged between contacts and will cause issues if the board is not cleaned before putting a new battery.
