Cheers man, just to confirm - does this have to be done through homebrew menu, or can I just do it through the album once booted in CFW (via SXOS) where it shows .nro files such as SXdumper, and Goldleaf?

once I install 8.1.0, will it reboot into OFW, and so I’d need to turn off and then boot back into CFW?

thanks for your reassurance, I’m sure you appreciate the first time you go to try this, it can be a little daunting
what's the difference between when you said homebrew menu and album?
but basically yes, you'll find choi nro along with others and run it

you can choose to power off instead of reboot so you don't need to go to ofw

I don’t think there is a difference tbh. One is you press R+A, the other you just press A. I’ve got an issue though, following the sthetix video on YouTube I placed the firmware folder downloaded into the root, but it doesn’t display as a folder, just a white file with “_810”

thanks guys

It’s a 2018 MacBook Air. It literally only shows the folder you can see in the image, as a file and with an underscore at the start of the name.

Hey man, trying to follow this guide, its been good so far, but now Im stuck while using memloader. It says that I need LINUX UMS DISK 0 and not USB Download Gadget. But I get a very different thing. Just "disk storage"/ Tried using it with injecting memloader payload and directly mounting through tegrarcmgui. Did all the things from the guide. Whats interesting that in information it says LINUX UMS DISK 0. Am I doing something wrong or it fine? Actual size of 4.19mb seems rightView attachment 181466

sorry man i ve away from pc for a week the easy way to do this download and open tegasmashgui and go to tools section and in memloader section pick the rawbin and say yes to warning

then open hacdiskmount and click file>open physical disk and select the one that has linux in its name

https://github.com/eliboa/TegraRcmGUI/releases

open cmd in windows and run diskpart

then list disk and work out which one is your nand

then select disk x (number)

then type list partition

there should be two small ones and one big one

the first one should be boot 0

another tool u can use is this which allows u to backup and restore a backup from the pc

I haven't updated my switch since I hacked it. I'm currently on 7.0.1
I noticed I can't play any of the newer games. (For example Zelda: Link's Awakening, The Witcher 3, Untitled Goose Game) I get "The software was closed because an error occurred"

If I update to 8.1.0 will that fix it, or do I need to go to the latest firmware?

Links Awakening should work fine for 8.1.0. I don't know abut the other games though.

EDIT: Untitled Goose Game should also run just fine on 8.1.0. Still don't know about Witcher, but probably it will.

I am running SX OS 2.5.3 and was using ChuDujourNX (latest version) to update from 4.0 to 8.1.0.

The installation ran successfully, and I selected to reboot in ChuDujourNX afterwards.

The system then never turned back on. No matter how long I hold any combination of buttons, the switch will not turn on.

I can boot into SX OS using a jig and dongle, however when I select to boot custom firmare, the screen just turns black.

Any ideas how I can get my switch going again?
