So this is my ponderings on what the Switch 2 or Switch Pro or whatever might be:

But if you don't wanna watch the video, then here are quick infographics that summarize what I'd imagine such a system to be from the video:

Having said that, there is a bonus if you do watch the video where I show off some of my own unique custom Smash Ultimate stages and include the Stage IDs to download them if you like them. I think they're really unique and cool and very unknown, so maybe spreading the word to sites like this might help them get more exposure.

What about Geforce ? You didn't mentioned it. Upgrade to powerful Geforce ? I know this is mocked up.

Yeah I'm not really talking about the architecture in the Switch, my point is that the system will undeniably be more powerful be it with Geforce or something else. That's not really what my focus is about. Instead I focused on how I think Nintendo would try and market the system to the average consumer.

Not to be a d*ck but the dock would be a stupid idea, the switch isn't very heavy, one yank of a Gamecube controller and your switch falls from whatever height and gets damaged.

It could easily be weighted, I considered that and immediately recognized the weighting solution and thought it was obvious and didn't need to be addressed.

Honestly, I would get this updated switch for the dock alone lol One of the things I hate about the current dock is the portability or lack thereof. The thing takes so much space. I'm probably gonna end up just buying another dock and getting one of those DIY casings for it. I don't trust 3rd party docks after all the bricks that happened.

There's a lot of stuff in that dock that won't happen, just because they want to sell their accessories. Otherwise, it would be really cool to see those features added!

I can see them selling this dock as a separate accessory, with an albeit higher price. Would be a good idea honestly and pretty sure it would sell well. It's slightly more portable and it includes both Ethernet and Gamecube controller hub, all in one. Beats having to carry all of those separately, which is honestly the worst part of the "portable" aspect of the switch.

Nice fanciful fantasies. Never underestimate Nintendo's desire to save yen. 100 bucks says no chance on earth for 3D, analogue triggers and GC ports on dock.

My guesses:
Better battery life.
'Enhanced' processor.
Well-overdue redesign(s) of dock and main units and joycons.
Maybe more storage in one model. Less in the other :)

Nintendo is obviously trying to move in a new direction with the switch, most of this is just stuff from old consoles, and a lot only used for smash. They won't change the design of their joy-cons just to enable light-shields, which would be used by a very small audience anyway.

"Games too intense for the original switch"

Lol. You really think that will fly? Shut out the user-base? Upgrade or else!

I`m sure that will leave a pleasant taste in parents mouths after they have just bought the outgoing model...

A mic etc, sure. These could be optional extras. Faster processor / 4K graphics - cool. But not at the expense of shafting the current userbase.

And Gamecube ports... WTF why? Thought we had traveled back to 2006 and just discovered the "White-Gamecube-With-Sensor-Bar" (Wii) for a minute.

Same form factor, upgraded hardware that doesn`t exclude the old userbase... A dock / console with a pogo pin setup (keep the USB-C as well), higher quality joycons, maybe an OLED... I`d be sold.

The "Nintendo Switch 4K Mario Galaxy Trilogy" bundle... Take my money...

I dunno. Thing is, Nintendo is all about convenience with their handhelds, and features above are anything but convenient. I mean:
-they won't add 3D screen because it was proven to be uncomfortable for a lot of people, especially when playing on a moving bus/train;
-they won't add stylus because that's one more thing to lose and subtracts from portability - the one in DS/3DS was more of necessity due to tiny screen;
-they won't add d-pad because it goes against the whole "split joycons for coop" thing;
-they won't add bluetooth because of possible audio lag in games (something Vita struggled with during its existence);
-they won't add built-in Gamecube ports into dock because nobody will use them except Smash fanatics.

There are some semi-realistic ideas, but overall, it just goes into childishly technophiliac territory ("BIGGER SCREEN! MORE PORTS! 3D CAPABILITY, YEAH!") instead of offering solutions for actual design flaws, like drift-prone sticks or poorly implemented kickstand.

Its a little to soon for a major hardware upgrade. Its only been 2 years. Nintendo will probably release a true upgrade in 2021. By then the ps5 and what ever shit Microsoft has will be out. Nintendo will have to upgrade or the baby publishers will bitch even more then they bitch now. I just hope it aint digital only or im pirating the shit out of it. Nintendo will get my money only for the unit but not for games. 2 sd card slots would be nice.
