Try this one https://github.com/satelliteseeker/Tinfoil/releases/tag/v0.2.1-USB-fix

This is the tinfoil with 5.x fixes

also are you booking out of TF after each install because thats what I was doing and that stopped my crashes initially

Yes, it only crashes if I install an nsp and then try to install another without quitting. It also crashes if I go into the USB transfer mode, but decide not to transfer anything and try to quit via home button

I'm using https://github.com/fourminute/Fluffy/blob/master/Tinfoil.nro which is identical to the one you posted :)

Many Thanks I will check that

I noticed that newer version and in fact I was using that initially and then once I started using fluffy went to the version they recommended, which turned out to be the older version on satelliteseeker's github.

What's the file corruption issue? Is this when you verify games from within the Switch menu?

Adubbz Tinfoil 0.2.1 with Aluminumfoil.. Works perfect for me every time on 7.0.1/atmosphere 0.8.5

you haven’t used new tinfoil with nut then, it’s 100% reliable :)

Doesn't work for me.... Plus you're an ass so I'd rather not use any of "your" software.

Try this build https://github.com/satelliteseeker/Tinfoil/releases/tag/v0.2.1-USB-fix2

also make sure once you hit b to close connection in TF after install then just go back usb install I find I don't get errors with that.

Real tinfoil with aluminumfoil is the only method that's 100% reliable for me.
I'm updating my answer - I haven't used it as many times as aluminumfoil yet, but NS-USBloader is also working reliably for me so far (also with real tinfoil, the usbfix build that's been discussed in recent posts), and is nice and slick in terms of UI and file selection.

I've noticed these USB install methods corrupt exfat sd cards because of the constant writing. Its better to use a fat32 sd card with these to avoid corruption. this happen to me & I lost all my installed data.

Yep, and if you're utilizing USB installs, there's really no reason to use Exfat anyway since the only 4GB+ files you'd need on your SD card are NSPs.

My phone has a USB-C Port. My Switch has a USB-C Port. I can download NSP on my phone directly, and then install directly on my switch.

I often download using my phone and data plan since my home internet is non-existant. But you say I can install straight from my phone to my switch? I'm intrigued. Got a link?

Just get a USB-C Thumb drive, plug into your phone, then plug into your switch.

This is why I am getting a new 256gb sd card and keeping it as fat32. All the posts about corruption on exfat are not exaggerated and usb install seems to have improved since tinfoil had it.

Oh, I thought you were installing straight from phone to switch using a C to C cable. Now that would be useful... For me at least.
I imagine if you switch your Android phone into a Mass Storage Device mode, you can mount its storage as a USB drive in SXOS.
