what would be the best NSP/XCI installer

i need some assistance with larger files
i can't install files bigger than 10 gb for some reason i tried to use an ftp and move it to the switch tried the mtp on dbi i also tried goldleaf and to use the install from usb option on dbi

MTP feature on DBI doesn’t care about size of the file you install on your sd card as It does it on the fly.

Hint : “Drive” named SD install in your windows explorer . Drag and drop your file , If it doesn’t work, you have an issue on your sd setup.

I could “literally” drop an 30 go file assuming my “EmuMMC “ has storage left, unless you try to install on a “filled” sysnand and no EmuMMC, therefore, you’re “stucked”.

Seeing your posts, I think you need to learn a bit more about switch and how “hacks” work.

I used to use Goldleaf and Tinfoil but always had issues with both. I migrated to Awoo with ns-usbloader and have never had a single issue installing any NSP or XCI dumps. However with all this praise for DBI, I will give that a shot.

You should. 😉. It’s not “praised”, It’s just a very powerful and reliable tool, yet I agree “closed source “.

i probably should but i have like 350 gb open so i don't see why i wouldn't be able to do it and it always fails when i drag files bigger than 3 gb to the sd install drive so i just do the one at the top which was to move files

you wont be able to move files bigger than 4gb on a fat32 sd card, thats why you use usb install to get round that problem.

yeah i know that issues with fat32 not letting you move files bigger than 4g that's why i said i was trying to use usb install and such

issue with one of them says invalid NCA signature detected improperly signed software should only be installed from trustworthy sources. files containing cartridge repacks and dlc unlockers will always show this warning. you can disable this check in awoo installer's settings and after that it's partially installed contents can be removed from the system settings applet openfilesystemwithid:124: failed to open filesystem. make sure your signature patches are up to date and se up properly error code: 0x00234c02

Nothing is “clear” on your posts.., Installing on a Fat32 sd, even big games is not an issue. No NCA from a game are bigger than 4go.

BUT, indeed if you try to move a >4go single file on Fat32, it won’t work.

i have that game on physical so i'll just play my official cartridge if that's not fixable but i wanted to put everything on a sd card for travelling.

How do you think you can install a cartridge game without dumping it ?

What I will do in this case is to make sure the Sigpatches on my SD card are updated according to my HOS and AMS version. Try search sigpatches-for-atmosphere-hekate in the forums or ITotalJustice's patches in github.

You may also try to verify hash and signature of your downloaded game file by using NxFileViewer. If it is not able to verify, just get the file from another source.

Apparently both Tinfoil and DBI have 2 different options to make installations over USB.

Tinfoil has via MTP or NUT.
DBI has via MTP or it's dbibackend.

Is there any relevant differences between the 2 methods that each app offers?
I'm mostly looking for the most reliable and at the same time fastest method.
Which solution is the best for what I want?


ps. I use Windows10 and plan to make installs of both NSP and XCI files.
