Homebrew Question SXOS not working?

So I have the SXOS dongle and everything but whenever I try to boot into the custom firmware the SX menu does show but as soon as I press boot to custom menu my switch just goes dark and nothing happens, also I never updated to 7.0 and also haven't updated the boot software if it even needs it idk, does anyone have any ideas?

oh and also selected auto RCM if that's helpful

Do you have EmuNAND installed? If you do delete and reinstall.
If you don't. Try using a PC and use TegraRCM with the latest version of 2.5.3.
If that happens, can you boot into normal OFW without any problems?

I do not have theEmuNAND installed actually now that you say that I forgot about it, I'm gonna try the Tegrasee if that will load
and yes it will boot up into normal OFW and everything there

Would it be more helpful if I uploaded some screen shots of my switch's root file and all that? I'm thinking maybe ive added somthing that is making it do this?

Yes it would. I suspect that it is something on your SD card. Try replacing the boot.dat

Yea you can try and yes like @GunzOfNavarone said repace boot.dat (version 2.5.3). Do you see any errors or does it get stuck and in the blackscreen? I have encountered this before.

okay so update here ive taken some pics of my switch and I took a few extras just to make sure but here i put them in an album over on imgur please and thank you guys!!

i can see there are missing files from sd card

download the following below and extract them to root of sd card

delete the license.request file as you already have one

As above, delete the license.request file as it could be causing a conflict. You only want license.dat along with the other files which look fine. Also of note is that boot.dat was put on, on the 8th Jan, is that the latest version of SX OS? i.e. 2.5.3? I personally think you need to re-download SX OS. If it's a black screen, it's in recovery mode and can't load the CFW. The CFW is SX OS i.e. boot.dat. Go onto executer's site and download a fresh version of their sx os or use the link pcwizard7 has supplied above. Let us know how you get along.

thanks a lot guys sorry for the time its taken me to get back to these, so I removed the license request and also added all that to the root of the sd card and still the sx loader will show up then go straight black again :/ maybe I need to just do a fully fresh SD card but it seems SXOS tutorial video has been taken down? I can also make a video of me trying to boot it up to show you guys what's happening.

Have you tested sd card by h2testw app? Maybe it is fake, so be sure to test it (program write and verify from sd). Be sure that cards is formated and have zero data on it.

You may want to try remove the Nintendo folder and see if its boots if it doesn't then

I d suggest starting fresh but depend on what your going to do so consider the follow
1. if you are going to be backup your games from eshop i suggest you do this on another sd card for this purpose only and format it exFAT
2. if not then format the sd card to FAT32 with this https://gbatemp.net/download/gui-format.33869/ and extract the 3 packages and move your license file

also i would do your cfw stuff in enunand

if you're going back to SX OS since 7.x support is a thing, try the following:

note: if you have license.dat in sd before creating emunand, you gonna get the black screen, so this is how i fix it:

1. Update sysnand to 7.01
2. Format sd card and put only boot.dat on it
3. Created emunand
4. Reset switch
5. Put put license.dat on sd
6. Boot succesfully on emunand

another thing it could be is what is the fuse count and firmware your booting too. as if they don't match sxos will just go to black screen

Before you proceed any further make a backup of rawnand, eMMC SYS and boot0/1 with Hekate. Copy it to your PC and preferably at least one other location.
Then make an emuNAND, and make sure you only boot CFW on emuNAND so you keep your sysNAND clean in case you want to play online (but even if you accidentally boot CFW on sysNAND you can restore your NAND backup to make it clean again, without a clean NAND backup there is no way to go back to legit stock, safe for online)
