Greetings everyone,
So, a friend if mine tried installing a9lh (yes you heard correctly a9lh) cuz apparently he didn't know that b9s was out. Nevertheless he managed to downgrade to 2.1 o3ds firmware , installed a9lh but for some reason he did a cart update to 4.xx o3ds firmware (didn't tell me exactly the firmware version).
Then he tried to do a ctrtransfer in godmode9 to update to 9.2.0 n3ds firmware and after that he uninstalled a9lh.
Now his n3dsxl opens but only blue light is on (screens are both completely turned off). It seems like it is Bricked to me
By the way, We tried deleting sd card files but didn't work.
If you know something that could help please reply
Thank you

[…]firmware and after that he uninstalled a9lh.
Why?! Why install A9LH just to uninstall it?

Anyway, if A9LH is really gone and the 3DS does not boot anything, your only real option is to use an ntrboot compatible flashcart to try installing B9S and restoring a NAND-backup (if any exists) and/or CTRTransfer again.
If you don't already have one, get this: R4i Gold 3DS Plus.

Could he replace the motherboard?
eBay has some cheap ones for 30-40$
Replacing the motherboard is possible, but not easy [ifixit]. You need to be very careful not to damage any ribbon cables and/or ZIF-connectors on the replacement motherboard.

However, a different motherboard effectivley turns the device into another console. All saved data becomes useless (unless you backed up some stuff in decrypted form). If the console had a NNID connected, you need to contact Nintendo and ask them to unlink the ID in order to be able to link it again.

Normally all software problems can be solved with ntrboot.
