Hey, I'm Olivia. I joined here to ask somebody as question, but I guess I can't do that until I've posted 10 things. Basically what I'm trying to figure out is how to edit supports and dialogue in Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates. I want to make it so the avatar (and nobody else) can marry any character regardless of their gender, I want to make it so Anna (Fates) can make a few friends and marry any of the fathers that way her character can actually have some decent class options, and I would like to change the S-rank support dialogue between Corrin and Forrest. If anyone wants to point in the right direction to do all that I would enjoy it. I've already been to the Fire Emblem Fates: ROM Hacking General Thread, just have to finish reading that. Maybe after that I'll already know everything I need to do. Any help would be nice though.

I'm actually not sure what to do at all after reading that thread. I've started reading some other stuff, but all I've gotten so far is that I'll have to look through the game data for specific hex values pertaining to supports between Corrin[F] and all of the female characters in the game. I'm not going to bother with the Corrin[M] supports since I'm just making this for me and want to play as a girl. I'm not exactly sure what to do for Anna since she's a DLC character. I want to add a couple friendships with some of the girl from both sides as well as allowing her to marry all of the fathers in the game, but I have to wonder if her support data is in the base game already or if it gets added when you download her DLC. It could make sense either way. The rest of her files have to be in the base game so people can use her on their MyCastle teams, so they may have just added the xenologue only in the DLC. But the DLC could also be her support conversations with Corrin and her xenologue. I also don't know how to edit dialogue. And I'm pretty sure I would also need to know how to add new dialogue because of the way support ranks are stored in the game data. I feel like I'll need to copy over the S-rank dialogues from the women and maybe also change some pronouns and titles in the text. It would be immersion-breaking to have people referring to my character as a man when they fall in love.

I want to make it so that female Corrin can marry any of the female characters, I want to change the S-rank support dialogue with Forrest so that Corrin doesn't pull a "no homo" during the proposal, and I want to add relationships for Anna so that she can be reclassed with a friendship seal or partner seal without having any kind of relationship with Corrin. In order to do this I'm going to need an understanding of how to find the proper values to edit in the game data, how to add new dialogue, and how to edit existing dialogue. I already know which values correspond to the type of relationship (slow platonic, fast platonic, slow romantic, fast romantic), but I'm not sure how to find the right characters in the game data or how to point to dialogue files to make the conversations I add appear in game.

I've looked it up, but it makes a lot of characters able to marry each other who I would want to still only be able to be friends. If they can get married they won't be able to use friendship seals to reclass and that limits the options I have for building up skills or reclassing.

I haven't seen that. I skimmed through the post, but it doesn't seem to explain how editing supports would work. Why would I need a save editor?
Also, not sure if I mentioned this or if it's even relevant, but I'm editing the game for use with Citra. I didn't want to install homebrew on my 3DS or edit my game cards, so I opted to use an emulator instead.

I'd look at it as a "magic eraser".
I haven't used the editor myself, but I'm trying to narrow down what you can absolutely do and who could better assist you vs. what you can't do, at all, ever.

Currently drawing a blank...I think I'm lost between what action you really want to take.
I mean, there are times I make things (i.e. a MGT deck) with the sole purpose of one specific goal (i.e. nomana4u), so my disconnect is if you're trying to play the game and get skills and have a good time, or you're trying to crush the shirt out of everything and this is the only way to get Galeforce on the squad.

TL;DR are you trying to alter the story for your own wants or alter the gameplay for specific strategy?

Knowing that you're using citra might help a bit.

I just want to marry girls without having to play as a boy. I don't care how that will effect the meta game. Although I don't think that it actually will. I mean, I won't be able to get Kana, but I find that he usually sucks anyway. I guess when it comes to editing Anna that would change meta game though. It just kinda sucks that she can access any class by marrying the Avatar but other than that she's limited to only a few classes and the all have pretty mediocre skills. Although I did collect some good skills in my Unit Logbook on the 3DS for her, so I guess the only thing in that case which would matter is class availability. It would be possible for me to just marry her in every playthrough, but that would be boring. Speaking of Galeforce though, if there's a way to make Ebon Wings and Dread Scrolls a purchasable item I would love that. I think it would be cool to make Dread Scroll available in the Rod Shop for like 12k and the Ebon Wing available in the Staff shop for the same price. I never got why the Dark Falcon class was so limited. I kinda get the Dread Fighter class being limited, but it was unlimited in Awakening and that was just fine.

I think the best and easiest (though mildly arduous) way to get everything done in under an hour: get the same-sex mod and use the editor (so supports and skills can be placed/removed where/when you'd like).

I'm pretty sure if you get the DLC for Fates, it comes with scrolls--to add to that, you can just use cheats to give yourself butttloads of scrolls/seals.

Cheating would ruin the fun. I would want to earn those scrolls.
Last night I did find a couple of tools that I think should make editing supports and dialogue really easy, but then I tried to extract the data from my rom with PackHack and it said extraction complete instantly without actually doing anything, so idk what else to do. I was told to use version nine, but when I went to download it I only saw a link for version 12. Maybe I downloaded it from the wrong place though.

This may be a thread to create if google isn't able to get the bud nipped. It's probably something related to a certain build that isn't working with a distributable of some kind (probably).
