No I never did anything like that before. I think the worst thing I remember people doing to each other when I was in highschool was setting a Crab as a wallpaper(They forgot to lock the computer lol) and when they came back from the washroom they would see the crab as a wallpaper and the guys would say to the victim he had crabs. The class was full of guys so probably thats why I was never targeted. Then again that was probably over 10 years ago when that happened. Do you kids still do that in school?

My favorite is signing your buddy up for junk mail, but use funny names. So say, his name is Eric and you put Sally using the same last name. Now when mail comes to work, other co-workers see the name and start rofl!

This wouldn't even be possible in my old school. I remember it had a webpage-blocker that looked for words on a webpage. If a page contained the word "fuck," for example, it was blocked for sexual content. This blocked about half the posts on meme sites as well (because a "huge fucking owl" is apparently sexual content).

No swearing in my Christian school

No, we were more subtle.
  • Perform a screen capture
  • Choose it as desktop wallpaper
  • Reduce the taskbar and lock it
The guy comes back and clicks everywhere, persuaded his computer is frozen for 5 minutes.
Bonus point if we scotch taped a small piece of paper on the mouse's laser.
Double bonus point if the computer belongs to a teacher
Triple bonus point if the capture contains adult content :^)

That's a classic.
Also to contribute to the thread, I used to run a program that hogs all their ram(forgot which) and watch them suffer

I'm surprised so many people voted no on the poll. Given the way me and my friends behaved I thought lots of people did it.

Things I did just to mess with people and only to mess with people:
- Make fake .cmd scripts that pretended to be viruses and restarted your computer while "infecting" it and replacing all browser (excluding Explorer of course because come on, who even uses that shit?) .lnk files to link to them instead of the actual programs they were meant to point to
- Edit BIOS settings to make the fans go at 100% speed all the time then lock the BIOS with a pass so you could use the computer but not change the settings
- The whole screenshot the desktop thing and set it as background because that's a classic, but also had a tiny program I found on a site long ago that froze the mouse, which made it all the more believable
- As I was always pretending to be the teachers' pet just to gain their favor and more leeway I was the school admin in both junior high and high school, giving me access to the main computer and pretty much blocking any access requests between the rest of the computers and nginx, making 99% of the pages the other kids were trying to visit impossible to load or remotely controlling their PCs without them realizing and shutting down browsers and whatnot just for the laughs of it
- Pretty sure I did too many other shit to even remember really, didn't mess with my friends really as we were all in on the act every time, so almost everything I did was just at schoolmates instead... One thing I DID do one time though to a friend was on WinXP where I intentionally corrupted the Windows's Recycle Bin function, making it impossible to delete anything:rofl2:

I saw this and thought about it.

If you did it to me it would probably take me about 8 months before I realised it happened* -- I don't have a home button, new tab is not a home page and like most people I launch the tabs I had before should I care to shut down my browser.

*possibly longer as 8 months is usually when I get bored and fiddle with settings.

I went to highschool so long ago now (2008) that we weren't allowed to have laptops in school, and you got in big trouble if you even had a cell phone in your pocket.

It was funny when a classmate's phone rang and the teacher answered it.
