Has anyone been messing around with Valkyria Chronicles (1) saves? I'm curious if it would even be possible to transfer my saves from the PC to my switch, but if not even a simple money edit would be appreciated.

Hello,
is it possible to edit a save without being banned? (in airplane mode of course)
Before the 6.0 update, there was no problem and never had banned because I don't use SX OS or CFW, however I just used Checkpoint with auto-rcm and 0 worries. I haven't tried with 6.0 and + (I am in 6.1), it seems to me that there is telemetry? Someone tested? Thx in advance!

What we really need is for something like Edizon to get more advanced. Right now it's pretty much an all or nothing thing. You basically just toggle stuff and usually it's the most extreme possible values. We need more advanced control, including an ability to input specific values in fields. With more of a standard and more control it would be easier and faster probably since it would just be a matter of giving it the numbers it needs for each game.

Ok, I'm late to the party here, but I think this should be clarified. "I ran a few stop signs before but didn't get any tickets" doesn't mean if you keep running them you will never get a ticket. Any mechanism through which you can run homebrew software is a mechanism that is potentially detectable -- just some are better than others and, in fact, a real CFW like Atmosphere is probably actually better at it since they actually actively block more of the telltale signs. (System firmware version is basically unrelated to this btw.) Also, Hekate manually loading KIPs or whatever you meant by that is still a CFW (you're effectively in Atmosphere or at least "Atmosphere Lite" if you do that.) In fact, running the homebrew software in the first place is a bit of a red flag on its own. The closest you could possibly do to editing saves without leaving a trail is if you dumped your NAND, extracted the saves with HacDiskMount, edited, imported the modified saves, then wrote the modified NAND back, and finally deleted all the files for Hekate and its backups from the memory card before ever actually booting the system. Even this probably isn't 100% (as mentioned, it depends on the game, but also it depends on the nature of the modifications,) but it's as close as I can think of. That's a lot of hoops to jump through though and I can't imagine it being worth it for anything less than, say, if you lost a huge amount of save data (NieR Automata anyone? But it's not on the Switch and it's easier to trick it if you're sufficiently warned in advance.)

I'm not saying no one should ever do anything of this nature at all. It comes down to the question of which is more fun and important to you: risking a ban by doing these things but having more fun with your games or taking zero risks and not doing any of this. Unless you want to really go all out and have two Switches -- one that you consider guaranteed to be banned and just go ahead and have fun with and one that you are very careful not to do anything Nintendo wouldn't like with so it won't be banned. (I did try this for a while. Putting aside that I needed the money, I really wasn't using the online functionality anyway, so I ended up selling it with zero regrets.)
