Yeah afaik there was no program for replacing, nor an apology...

I have the impression it was a deliberate choice instead of a mistake.

If I'm not wrong it was the same on the PS3, as with a broken/non-working BD reader upgrade to newer FWs was impossible (if we exclude CFWs).

What I don't understand is why it's not from the beginning of the console life cycle, on PS3 it also started with a later FW if memory serves me well.

In a cynical way it makes somewhat sense (royalties for physical disc releases)... Bah!

@MostlyUnharmful agreed it was, I guess, a tactic to prevent optical emulation and or third party repairs and parts.

ODE for wii/WiiU/360/PS3 was huge around about when the PS4 was fledgling, but it still doesn’t excuse effectively bricking and locking out customers who had a legit faulty machine.

Perhaps the timeframe for implementing the BD check came after a specific event in each consoles history? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I got "926100000" and the kernel dump is 0 bytes.

http://celesteblue.nopsn.com/PS4/474/

But did you check debug settings?

Try again, and see what’s available at the bottom of your settings.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I cant access to psn or browser

Host the 474 files via azifs PEH (go to the link and right click, show source, and download each linked file, make a folder in PEH exploits called 474 or whatever, and follow the instructions in AIO guide for how to host).

Then open user guide.
