You will be unable to downgrade to any firmware below 6.0 without RCM.Hi guys another little question,
In a bad tutorial I update to error my switch to the ultimate version and well i have 7 fuses burned, What is it that I will not be able to do?
All CFW have access to both .XCI and .NSP files in the form of homebrew applications such as Tinfoil, dOPUS, n1dus, DevMenu, Rommenu, ZeroTwoXCI, etc. However very, very few games can be installed/launched on firmware 1.0. I would recommend using Atmosphere to update your firmware using the homebrew application ChoiDujoruNX. More information can be found within this guide: https://www.sdsetup.com/Hi, Big noob here.
Does hacking the switch give access to pirated games yet? None of the tutorial I read, teaches you how to install a pirated games. I have an untouch first gen switch on 1.0.0 FW. What is the best route to go for OFFLINE playing pirated games?
No. ChoiDujourNX installs AutoRCM by default and when you turn off a console with AutoRCM from CFW/OFW, it will reboot into RCM. And anytime the system is shutdown or restarted, you will need to send a payload in RCM to boot it back into CFW.if i update with choixdujour then turn off completly my switch (hold power button fro 10sec) then turn on again the switch will it launch atmosphere automatically? if not will it burn fuses?
thank you for your help
If I had to venture a guess, probably either when Atmosphere is fully completed or sometime after its been finished. Is a softmod for people on Firmware 3.0.0 or lower going to be available in the near future? Or will we have to wait a few years until it gets fully patched?
Updating official puts you at risk for a ban. Its recommended to update your firmware via ChoiDujourNX. In order to use it, you do need to the firmware files elsewhere but the thread gives you hints on where to look.so im using sxos and my switch is running ver. 6.0.0
i went to play a game recently and it says it requires an updated firmware version.
im gonna update sx os first
then should i update manually via official firmware and wifi
or try the offline method with choidejour? (which i dont fully understand, do i need to find firmware files, i dont even use auto rcm)
any help would be appreicated
thanks man so when i turn off completly the switch, and turn it on again, unless i use the rcm jig and payloader, it just wont boot? thanks againNo. ChoiDujourNX installs AutoRCM by default and when you turn off a console with AutoRCM from CFW/OFW, it will reboot into RCM. And anytime the system is shutdown or restarted, you will need to send a payload in RCM to boot it back into CFW.
As stated previously, turning off a console with AutoRCM from OFW/CFW causes it to reboot into RCM. To fully turn it off, you have to power it off from RCM. Once fully shutdown, turning it on causes it to enter RCM AUTOmatically.thanks man so when i turn off completly the switch, and turn it on again, unless i use the rcm jig and payloader, it just wont boot? thanks again
- Not sure what you are referring to. The current exploit relies on a flaw in the bootrom which is designed by Nvidia and is named Fusee Gelee. In order to take advantage of it, you must boot the system into Nvidia's RCM. One of the ways to do that involves bridging pins 9 & 10 on the right Joy-Con together which may be the "Joy-Con port exploit" you are referring to. The only other known exploits are Jamais-Vu and Deja-Vu
- Account bans are very rare and reserved for severe offences such as playing a game online before release date. 99% of the time, Nintendo only bans consoles so your account should be untouched.
- While the current exploit is a coldboot which is launched before the NAND, without CFW, we are limited in what we can do without booting up the NAND. We are able to perform simple functions such as dumping/restoring the NAND, but dumping/restoring saves is so far accomplished with homebrew save managers which require the use of a CFW in order to be launched. If you want to transfer save data without using CFW, there is a manual guide on how to do so here.
Will my switch get burn fuses if I turn of AutoRCM or full shutdown after update by ChoiDujourNX?No. ChoiDujourNX installs AutoRCM by default and when you turn off a console with AutoRCM from CFW/OFW, it will reboot into RCM. And anytime the system is shutdown or restarted, you will need to send a payload in RCM to boot it back into CFW.
HacdiskmountYeah, that's the exploit I was talking about, wasn't aware it was called Fusee Gelee.
So if I can dump the NAND and my keys, are there any PC apps that can then extract the saves from that dumped NAND?
You will burn fuses if you don't install AutoRCM or disable it after installing it while running a firmware higher than your fuse count. Will my switch get burn fuses if I turn of AutoRCM or full shutdown after update by ChoiDujourNX?
