I just bought a new EZ-Flash Omega for use with my DS Lite and I flashed it with Kernel 1.04 and Firmware 6.0. Games launch fine but I am unable to enter the game menu or sleep mode (L + R + Start, L+ R + Select) no matter how hard I press the buttons or how long I hold them. I can confirm my buttons all work in game and in the Omega menus. I also tried changing the hot key combinations to things like Down + A + Start and it made no difference. I DID enable all the settings in the menu (reset, save, cheat, etc). Any help would be appreciated. I hate haven't to restart my device each time.

Not all games work well with these functions, which games are you trying this on? Are you using clean, unpatched ROMs?

How are you launching the ROMs? Are you selecting the "boot with addon" option or are you using the "clean boot" option?

Hi, great questions! I am using "boot with addon" but have also tried clean boot. I am lauching the roms from the first (SD Card) menu. I believe my ROMS are all unpatched. I have tried them on a number of popular GBA titles like Mario Kart, Castlevania, Ninja Five-O etc. I think I found one game total that it worked on but the vast majority just treat it like I am pressing Start. Is this common for flashcarts? I've used a number of them and the hot keys have always seemed to work for me. Is this a GBA cart issue or something wrong with the Omega?

Those are not clean ROMs.

Castlevania (USA) should be E7470DF4D241F73060D14437011B90CE
Ninja Five-0 should be 04244F72A9B8F17EE33E0B5BFF2B8B1F
and Mario Kart should be 784A036FF1AAE709E90167186639B75E

you're apparently using some modified or patched roms. Try getting the ones with the checksum I mentioned above.

EDIT: You should always make sure to use no-intro ROMs, you can check Dat-O-Matic for the correct checksums: https://datomatic.no-intro.org/

Shoot, I had no idea these were bad roms. Drats, now I have to go try to find a source for clean GBA roms (not so easy for me). Danke for all your help troubleshooting.

Double check to make sure you're using clean roms by comparing the checksum to the no intro database.

I have the same issue. When I received the modchip, everything worked fine. Then, I put the system in my GBA Micro and changed the shortcuts. For me, the hotkey combination for "Save state" works fine, however the hotkey combination for "Load state" (menu if you enable more functionality), works only ~10% of the time. This issue now persists when I put the flash cart back into my DS lite, where it originally was working perfectly.

I am convinced that this is a software issue. Is there any way to factory reset the flash cart? I tried downgrading and upgrading the kernel but this did not work. I also tried reformatting my flash card and still nothing.

I would really hate to have to buy new hardware to fix what I am convinced is a software issue...

Update: I have found a workaround for my issue (unclear if it will work for the issues others in this thread are having)

If you are having issues, try different permutations of your hotkey sequences. L+R+START did not work for me, but mysteriously L+START+R works perfectly despite having the same functionality.
