Do you have Haxchi or CBHC currently installed ?
If you have Haxchi, there's a config file you can edit to add more path to direct launch them from the hom menu.
No need to install a second haxchi channel.
If you have CBHC, there's no config file but a boot menu.
You can either install any NDS game (even non signed one, as CBHC patches the signature check) and install haxchi into it, or you can install a modded version of CBHC (replacing yours) which has a "HID-to-vPAD" selection in its boot menu.
I'm not sure if autobooting the HID2vpad is also patching the CFW, if not I recommend either using the "do not touch" icon, or install haxchi on a different NDS game (attention, installing haxchi to the same game used by cbhc will brick).
few choices :
-
haxchi 1 click : edit the config.txt to add hid2vpad as default path, sysmenu and hbl set to different buttons. reinstall haxchi over your current NDS game. you'll have to press a button to patch the cfw, or launch hbl.
-
haxchi 1 click + button : edit the config.txt to add a new path to your current haxchi, you'll have to press different button to launch specific homebrew path.
-
2 Haxchi 1 or 2 click : install a new NDS game, set hid2vpad to default in the config.txt, edit the pictures/icons to hid2vpad, install haxchi to the new NDS. if it's not good signed, you'll have to first have sigpatch cfw by launching the other haxchi first. (2 steps launch)
-
CBHC 0 click : install CBHC mod to existing CBHC, set autoboot to hid2vpad. You won't have CFW ! you can launch only good signed games, without DLC or eshop. note that you need the elf on proper path on SD.
-
CBHC + haxchi 1 click : add a new NDS game (signed or not), set hid2vpad to default config.txt, edit the picture to have hid2vpad icon, install haxchi to that NEW nds.
-
CBCH 1 click + menu : install CBHC mod to existing CBHC, set autoboot to cbhc cfw, boot the console, launch "do not touch me" and select hid2vpad manually.
- CBHC + haxchi 1 click : it's probably the best and fastest method. you have CFW, and direct hid2vpad boot without pressing any button. you can of course configure more apps to different buttons if you want.
you have a modded cbhc version with hid2vpad here :
