Spyro Reignited Trilogy delayed

IMG_0381.JPG

Originally scheduled for a September 21st release, Activision have regretfully informed fans that they would have to wait a little bit longer for their remake of the classic Spyro series. Toys for Bob, the ones behind the remake cited that the Reignited Trilogy "needs love and care", which means it had to be pushed to November 13. The remake of Spyro 1-3 will be available on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when it launches on its new release date, while a PC and Switch version have been accidentally leaked multiple times, but not confirmed yet.

Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyrotrilogy after all these years. We're deeply committed to getting these games right, so we’ve decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018. I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care. In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.

The adventure continues,

Well that's a shame, game was originally releasing the day before my birthday and I planned on just spending the day beating this remaster.

Oh well, so long as they don't release a buggy mess I don't really care much.

I legitimately doubt the devs announced anything themselves.
Oh? Do tell.

I guess (technically) the publisher is to blame. The fact of the matter is that nothing should be announced until they can have a firm date.

Which is why devs need to quit announcing a release date until they're sure. :v
To be fair on this, if they didn't announce a release date you would get just as many people whining about it.

Look no further than KH3 with people complaining and making jokes about it constantly, hell other devs have even received death threats for the same reason (And even less at times).

Basically it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type of ordeal at the current time.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, the publishers set a deadline, and that's why so many games get day one patches nowadays.

Oh well lol

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

What's wrong with games on dics? It not like BD have lack of space.

1- it's a shitty practice, how can you or anyone defend it?
2- just because it's 2018 that doesn't mean everyone has fast internet connections
3- it's not just shitty, it's lazy and it only shows how little they care

who told you that?
If it's 20gb per game, which seems realistic to me
then they'll all fit on a 64gb cartridge ;)
20 GB for a two decades old game? That's actually hilarious. There's literally no way these games are going to be that large. Lets do a quick sanity check: Original PSX ISO files average about 500MB. Let's assume a vast majority of that size is textures, as is the case in modern games for a worst case scenario. The PSX had a maximum texture limit of 256x256. Now, if the game was actually 20gb, that would mean the textures would be bloated by 40x (40* 500MB = 20GB). This means that the new texture to texture remap that would be done is that the textures would be 1600x1600 (a 6.325x increase on both sides for a 40x increase in total pixels.)

That actually hilarious. They would be releasing it as a 4k game at that point. That's absolute worst case too. Compression for textures would radically reduce the size of them with how flat in color scale most of them are.

No, these games aren't going to be 20GB in size. They're going to be 10GB max.

yea well, I think I miswriten my though
I meant that 20gb was more than enough for these games
that even if they were 20gb each, it would still fit in a 64gb cartridge
which is the biggest cartridge Nintendo offers

i would much rather wait another couple of months for a game that's had some care and attention paid to it than a buggy mess. Am I disappointed it's been delayed, yeah but a little bit of extra polish can go a long way
