Hi all,

I've got a New 3DS XL which is on the latest firmware (11.8) im currently going through the guide to install custom firmware and I've got to the following section 'Section IV - Installing boot9strap and configuring Luma3DS'

https://jisagi.github.io/SeedminerGuide/injection/

In section III I've prepared my SD card just as it says and then launched my patches DSI Ware game. Then I get the following text on screen.

######################
Initializing FAT... good
Initializing NAND... good
Checking for A9LH
A9LH detected! Brick Avoided!!
Please install B9S with
SafeB9SInstalled

Press home to exit
######################

It doesn't mention anything on the site how to troubleshoot this. Can anyone help me with this? I have followed the guide so far word for word so I've not done anything I shouldn't have. Help would be appreciated.

It shows ya got A9LH on your console. So you want to go with https://3ds.hacks.guide/a9lh-to-b9s for getting B9S on there.

Any update? There is a way to override that warning but I don't want you to try it until you rule out having a9lh.

Yes, still not working.

Just to confirm this is a New 3DS XL on 11.8 (latest Official firmware on it). Just to inform you in order to get in to this position I've had to do Seedminer. I'm not sure how to get to the next steps.

so are you sure you don't have a9lh (false positives can happen)? you've tried installing b9s?

Well ive followed the guide word for word.

What I've done so far
1. Went to this website https://3ds.hacks.guide/get-started
2. Clicked the 'Installing boot9strap (DSiWare' as its for the 11.8.0 firmware
3. Used the Seedminer link. Purchased a game from the eshop - I've patched it just like it says and that's all gone well.
4. The guide then takes you off to this page https://jisagi.github.io/SeedminerGuide/injection/
5. I've then done section I and section II.
6. Section III - I've downloaded all the files / folders as it states and then got to section IV
7. I launch the DSiWare game as it says and then that's where I get the screen which I added in my first post.

SD Card looks like this

ROOT
boot9strap > keys.bin
Nintendo 3DS > Patched Game
boot.3dsx
boot.firm
boot.nds

As mentioned above, you have A9LH on your console. Follow A9LH to B9S - 3DS Hacks Guide to install B9S.

Ok for the 3rd time I've followed the A9LH to B9S - 3DS Hacks guide you have linked.

I've copied all the files as it states. - Then tried to boot the 3DS whilst holding start and it just takes me to the main 3DS menu.

SD card attached

I have the exact same issue as everything discussed on this page. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Daniel,

Wait to see if the page comes back up but basically there is a file inside the b9stoola folder which needs to be renamed without a file extension on it.

I don’t have the file any more however I’m sure someone can help you.

Great news, I read the troubleshooting txt that comes with b9stools and all you have to do is rename key.bin to 'danger_skip_a9lh' also be sure to remove the file extension (.bin)

Yes that’s correct. Remember to take the file extension off and it should work. How how has that gone?
