i got a 256 GB EVO plus on prime day and people told me it was overkill

the evo plus was $85 , went down to $84

yesterday i saw microcenter store brand (rebranded kingston) 256GB micro SD for $59 ,they also have 128gb for $29

not disappointed though since it only cost me $15 for the 256gb evo after getting a $70 amazon credit for applying for the Amazon prime visa card

this is a really good price on the 256 , i got a store brand 128 like almost 3 years ago for $28 ,but they went back upand have not been that cheap since until now, but $59 for 256 is really good, same price as they have for 2 128

No, because the sx os backup loader add seconds on the loading time so even if the SD have a good read speed (90Mbps+) compared to a cartbridge is inferior, probably the best is if have a A2 rate (minimum random read). The write speed is good for copy roms from PC to SD.

It is over kill, the switch sd slot is slow, but i can guarantee this will end up in my phone down the line.

Where would you guys recommend I get one 128GB or above?
I am looking around but I am still undecided.
Was checking Sandisk's 128GB and Kingstone's 256GB cards, any other recommendations and/or places to buy the cards you recommend?

sandisk ultra 200GB here and with 30 games .xci and .nsp i have 30GB of free space in the SD.

SanDisk Ultra most likely still loads games faster than the Samsung Evo+ because of the A1 specs.

Samsung will be faster moving games from PC to it.

The price of a 200gb card seems the best value for your money. This is the one that went on sale. Probably will go on sale again after thanksgiving.

I don't think that will be a problem... At least with some fast memory technologies in the PC like the M2 SSD cooling them is kinda bad as it even reduce their life cycles a bit, they are suppose to run hot (at least thats what some engineers and techs all over the place report).

About the mSD I have no idea, but I don't think switch will be that hot near it as its kinda almost external on the console, then the console even has the backplate to spread heat kinda equally and prevent small hot spots.

I'm almost sure the mSD under heavy use will produce lot more heat than what is receiving from Switch hardware it self around it.
