Use checkpoint to backup and restore save
But that requires CFW. What Im asking is, for someone on 5.1.0 OFW, is there any way to load CFW on the system currently? Nearly everything I have seen either uses 3.0.0, 2.3.0 or in the the case above technically 5.0.2.

Checkpoint works perfectly fine on all firmwares and so does RCM & hekate.

hellow, has anyone here had experience with editing a save after having previously existing save data erased? my switch bricked 2 weeks ago and because nintenders likes dropping the ball i lost all my data (rip my gear, chunks, snails, and tickets). based on what everyone here has been saying i'm assuming editing your level is probably just a no go no matter what the situation, but i might be able to recoup my gear situation at least a little bit with save editing, and i wanted other people's opinions before i attempted to do anything.

thanks in advance!

Some one in this thread said they edited there level, similar situation to you and they are fine so far. Its hard to gauge as not much information floating about i think if it syncs with splatnet then probably safe not to do it. but then again i dont know if what we see on splatnet is everything that syncs with it or if they even check. Personally i use the 3x exp tickets to get my level up

I think the biggest problem when editing your everything arises when you’ve already been online and splatnet can track ur record so to say. when i got on a new splatoon i went into the lobby, cleared out the news and instantly dumped my save and changed everything i needed. still able to play and it took splatnet a day to actually reconnect w/ my new file. if you’ve already been online, I haven’t much words to offer other than to simply dive in and hope for the best in ur hacks :^

thanks for the replies! i think, based on what i've read everyone say, i'm only going to do some gear editing since it seems to be relatively safe. leveling up again is going to suck but it's not a big deal compared to losing all the leveled and unique gear i had ;;

I gave myself 50 of those 2x level up tickets which helps you level pretty fast and I haven't gotten banned for it or anything. Good luck!

I'd say from modding in other games - if you're careful and don't go over the top, even modding your level should be fine.

By that I mean adding at most 3 - 5 levels a day or something. Something believable and not idiotic like going from level 7 -> 45 in 10 minutes etc. For example, my Switch's WiFi connection is utter crap where it is at the moment, so I ended up boosting, using the editor, from level 7 to 13 to make up for the frequent disconnections/loss of "complete match XP" and haven't had a problem yet. Same goes with gear editing etc. Make it believable (i.e don't give yourself perfect stats - throw in a dud occasionally) and you'll be fine.

From what I gather there's little to no anti-cheat in Splatoon 2, so you're purely going by player reports (if that!) and maybe some competitive stats (I can't be bothered with ranked so never play competitive) but the same still applies - don't be dumb with your modding (like playing as unreleased characters...) and you should be good.

Besides - the way I see it, editing some stats is just the tip of the iceberg. There's much worse in the way of cheaters etc out there for Nintendo to go after.

does anyone know if adding gear from amiibo you don't own can get you banned? i doubt it, but i just want to be safe, i don't know if the game can detect whether or not you've scanned the amiibo/received the gear from it

If you really have to get the amiibo gear without buying the amiibo, the safest way to do it is to make some amiibo stickers/cards.

    I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
