TX Releases SX OS v1.3

TX Releases Another Update To Their SX OS, with a big new feature: 'eShop NSP Support' :)

TX does not seem to want to take a break, they have now pumped out yet another major update to their SX OS, check it out below:
We are back once again with an exciting update for SX OS. Let's skip the drama for now and jump straight to the list of new goodies:
  • Add LayeredFS support
Are you excited about any upcoming Game Mods for switch games? Well, we are! To accommodate this we have added what is commonly referred to as "LayeredFS" support. In short what this allows you to do is override specific files from a game with modified copies that are loaded from your microSD's (ex)FAT partition.
Place your custom game files under the following locations on the microSD root:
    - /sxos/titles/<titleid>/exefs/
    - /sxos/titles/<titleid>/romfs/
We can't wait to see what cool mods the community will come up with!
  • Add eShop NSP support
This adds support for installing and launching installed eShop NSP files. This is still rough around the edges and for advanced users only. To install NSP files you need a legitimate copy of the DevMenu, which can be launched currently via LayeredFS. We are still working on adding a custom and easy to use NSP installer to our own menu system. Stay tuned!
WARNING: We do not recommend playing online with installed eShop NSP games without a valid ticket, as this WILL lead to a console ban without a doubt.
  • Add low battery reconfiguration on bootup
Some users were having battery issues after playing around with Switch Linux custom payload. This fixes the "battery desync" issue every time you boot your switch. If you weren't use Switch Linux there's nothing to worry, otherwise; enjoy your penguins AND enjoy your horizon OS! :D
  • Hide OSX Temp files in game selection menu
If you were pestered by bogus entries in the game selection menu chances are high this is because you are using OSX (and Finder). We simply hide those files from the menu now. All cleaned up!
  • Removed eMMC password lock
It seems a perfectly safe and easily reversible hacker challenge we put in place for aspiring hackers has been blown out of proportion. We are sad to see so many false claims on the internet and to avoid any further false accusations and 'fake news' we decided to get rid of it. Namaste.
That's it for today! We'll be back soon. Team-Xecuter doesn't take a break. While others moan on social media we work day and night to bring you the best experience on Nintendo Switch.

Sooo. too many people too respond too. Not even gonna try.
If they steal their open source code, they should at least give them some credit, and not completely break their license.
No it is an punishable offense. But considering prosecution is basically impossible giving credit is the least they could do...
What it is is illegal. Also douchey.
I get it now. They took open source code, made profit, didn't give credit, and broke their license. Welp, I would cancel my preorder if I were not planning to do nefarious things with their mod chip.

You are at least not making monetary profit of somebody else's work. Also tell me, in what way would it hurt TX to just give credit?

It's a little more complicated this time, to quote the post

You'll need a copy of Devmenu

Just cancel and buy a trinket M0, it’s an internal mod chip that’s cheaper than what SX has to offer.

Never heard of trinket M0. I ordered SX because it comes with a jig (which I don't have or want to make) a cfw that already loads backups, support for a non tech genius, and it's a nice and neat like I like it. 40$ was kinda a drop in the bucket for instant "backup loading" tbh.

I got an email from them, mine's coming today or the 5th - 6th. It'll skip 4th of July.

You can never satisfy the TX haters. Chill out people, this is not a thread to spill your salt. Pirates are going to pirate, which means stealing, be it code or games.
Pirates are going to pirate, and SX is going to steal open sourced code and spin brick code into a good thing. That’s just how it is

There is no reason that TX couldn't just comply with the license and contribute to the codebase and still make money, by selling a $2.00 product with little to no research and development cost (due to it already being done by open source devs) for say $20 or so for the dongle, and offering support to users (so they don't have to come here begging for help using SX). Bang! Everyone is happy.

Would you SX owner's pay $20 for the dongle and tech support even if you could use an open source implement for free? I as an abstainer from buying products that don't comply with OpenSource licenses would buy it all day.

You only have to pay for the backup loading, not the homebrew. (Yes I know people still don't like it, but at least don't lie and say they're making profit off the homebrew code copying.)

I am undecided if this makes it worse IMHO. They could just work with the open source community to improve the current solution, but no - they compile all the stolen code into a binary blob.

And yes this is in principle free, but it is still "publicity" for their unfree product to people only casual knowing what is going on in the scene.
