libnx is ISC, hbmenu is ISC, hbloader (no license)

All allow commercial shit (except hbloader as of writing)

I'm not a lawyer, so my word isn't gold here, but, iirc, "no license" is the same as "All rights reserved", which means you can't really use it at all without the author's permission, especially not commercially.

I'm not surprised, TX is shameless, after-all they're more then happy with bricking a console, so it's not much of a stretch to believe they'd be more then fine with stealing from open sourced projects to pad out RND

After-all, we're talking about the Anti-Pirating Pirates here, they don't exactly know much about subtlety.

No it did not. You have to remember SX OS has the option to launch HBL when you press L while opening the album, so references to the hbl NRO are obviously present.

I really don't get why people get their jimmies so rustled about this. You're literally complaining about "stolen" code in a thread about pirating a closed source CFW.

E: I'm not trying to goodmouth SXOS, but it is what it is. You have to approach the whole thing logically instead of just throwing things out there and assuming things like the ReSwitched Discord does all day.

nx-hbloader is not nx-hbmenu, however. The nx-hbloader code is considered stolen because the easter egg can be found and there is no credit given to the original authors, as required by the license (which really isn't much to ask for, and would give them a better image).

Yet still, there is nothing about HBL used in SXOS, as far as I am aware. (At least I haven't found anything referring to HBL while browsing through SXOS, so It might just be some leftover stuff they forgot to remove.)

The Homebrew Launcher itself (the boot.nro file) isn't in SX OS, as far as I know. However, what is used to launch that boot.nro file (nx-hbloader, which is what you can use with the WebKit exploit or with Atmosphere), is stolen.
libnx is also used without credits, and Atmosphere's Loader re-implementation was stolen.

I see. Still, it is kinda dumb to complain about code being stolen that is available to the public and can, theoretically used by anyone however they want. Of course it isn't ethical, but then again neither is hacking a console.

The developers themselves were fully expecting it, as well. They do not seem outraged/surprised by this. Only users on this forum seem to be.

Hacking a console is entirely debatable, and the laws surrounding it are questionable at best. This is not the thread for that, however. Sadly...

I meant the other teams can break open the Switch security in the first place. Know inside out of how the exploit work. Good luck to these so called professional developers to secure their OS embedded with stolen codes.

So much of this. I wouldn't be surprised if ReSwitched doesn't pursue legal precedent. It seems more like they just wanted to prove to the community how "bad" TX is with solid evidence. Its interesting to say the least that TX is not 100% original not to mention that TX can no longer claim the title of never being cracked, but its more of a drama than the beginning of something more.
