Can I remove microsd card after the boot of SX OS and than can I transfer backups with my pc than reinsert microsd to switch, will backups show/work?
You need to power down the switch, remove SD card, insert into PC, copy game, eject, reinsert into switch, boot into SX then new games will show. Don't just eject a SD card when running.

Think your wrong there. SD cards can have problems from one device to the other. I've got a Toshiba card right in front of me that works perfect in a 3ds but I get read errors and crashing when using on a pi for example running home assistant.
Also tried it on a two phones, same thing one worked greta other kept getting freezing problems. Tried other cards and problems fixed.

Also please show your exact model of SD card and your FW number. This way a list could be made to see if some SD cards have problems
You are right, this has a lot to do with the controller on the SD card and the chipset on the device trying to read the SD card. Sandisk is the only manufacturer so far who has made a card specifically for the switch... So my assumption would be that Sandisk would be somewhat more compatible with the switch... but some people here seem to have issues with Sandisk cards as well... not all Sandisk card are made equal and some of them use different controllers... that is not even accounting for the cluster size used to format your card which can also result in reading errors. Whatever cluster size the Switch use natively is probably the one to use when formatting your card... I’m not sure which one that is... my assumption would 32K but that needs to be checked

I've formatted my sdcard (Samsung evo+ 128gb) with FAT32 and a clustersize of 32k.

All dumps i've tested so far (trimmed and split) run without problems.

But some users are reporting that split dumps don't work for them.
I wonder what's different?!

The main one I've been using in my Switch about a month (after having it for about 2 years in my 3DS prior) with no issues and I've tested 2 of the other 3 as well and had no issues downloading and playing games in the Switch OFW. So it's not that the cards don't work with the Switch, it's that they don't work with the SX Os.

I know that som ecards can be finicky with certain devices. But the point I was making is thats not the case here, because my cards DO work with Switch. The problem is that something in the way SX os loads the .xci files has an issue with some sd cards. And based on some of what I've seen and my own cards it seems to be an issue with Sandisk cards. Because I have a 4gb, 2 8gb, all standard black Sandisk HC cards, and both the 8GB ones I've tried and work fine with Switch OFW, and a 32GB Sandisk Ultra that I've been using a month on Switch OFW.

As I've pointed out in prior posts, some games just work, while a few will only load at all if trimmed and then just freeze up, regardless of which of the cards I put them on. And with Mario + Rabbids I've tried both the BBB dump and personal dump. Others I've gotten the BBB dump from multiple locations but same issue each time, untrimmed is game card could not be read, trimmed is loads up fine then crashes at some point.

Can you not get your hands on a different make or model other than sandisk? Maybe it's the make thats not playing well with SX. I cant test as I don't have a free sandisk. I've bought samsung the last 3 or 4 cards over the last year or two as I haven't had a single problem on any hardware. Could just be lucky?

Except for two titles, I keep getting a "game card cannot be read" error... SanDisk Ultra 128GB A1, exFAT, BBB, untrimmed. Does this by any chance have anything to do w/ copying the files from macOS onto the card? I'm lost.
In case anyone's having the same problem: copying one file after another did the trick for me. the only two games working for me were the ones I had transferred separately before. The rest I had dragged and dropped altogether onto the card, which apparently caused the problem in my case.

Everything's working flawlessly for me now, expect for a few crashes here and there. :)

I think this might be a very important factor here and maybe the root of most people problem with compatibility. A game cart would have on single string of continuous data written to it. Copying multiple files to the SD card at once might fragment the data somehow... I'm still waiting for my SX pro to arrive so I cannot test anything at the moment. But for those of you who are having issues, could you try formatting your SD card and dropping your problematic ROMs one by one and see if that fixes the problem? if there are still some issues after that maybe we could all test with the same formatting first e.g exFat, 32K cluster and a problematic dump that has been proven to work by some but not for others (FIFA 18 comes to mind) and isolate contributing factors such as: Manufacturer, SD card speed, Formatting type (FAT 32, exFat), Cluster size, Dump origin (BBB, self dump etc..). Once we isolate the issue to a common source, the OP could be updated.

Strange i'm playing right now Street Fighter 30th anniversary normally. To the user that tried it: try redumping your cartridge or redownloading your backup.

In another thread, Breembin mentioned that ftpd isn't working with SX OS. I also can't get it to work:

FTPD is broken. When I try to connect to my Switch I get an error that says "license-request.dat not found" and aborts the connection. This is a SX file, and seems to be interfering with FTPD for some reason...

backup licence-request.dat to your Windows PC (didn't test with OSX), delete it then copy it back. It will fix it.

shit thats sad :( . I was planning to launch it and use without AutoRCM seems like I have to install AutoRCM. I do not know if I should install SX OS's AutoRCM or briccmi or ctcaer's :(
Good question can anyone elaborate on this? Any differences between the other AutoRCM methods or are they all the exact same?

Posting again to confirm - reboot_to_rcm for 1.0.0 switches does NOT work with SX OS. Used a wire to boot into RCM mode and everything is working correctly now.

Probably not too many people that benefit from this but wanted to update!

I don't have my unit with that firmware. So you're saying you tried to install Auto RCM but it doesn't install it?

Can I remove microsd card after the boot of SX OS and than can I transfer backups with my pc than reinsert microsd to switch, will backups show/work?
Avoid doing this. This could damage something on the SD card. The Switc will make you reboot anyways, just avoid the risk and turn off, take out sd, re-insert and turn on.

I've formatted my sdcard (Samsung evo+ 128gb) with FAT32 and a clustersize of 32k.

All dumps i've tested so far (trimmed and split) run without problems.

But some users are reporting that split dumps don't work for them.
I wonder what's different?!
Could you confirm how you're splitting them? To make sure we find what could be wrong with those having issues.

Do eshop games in .NCA format work on SX OS yet?
No, they don't. There hasn't been an update tot he firmware anyways for them to work.

So I installed the SX OS using my PC and enabled auto-RCM. My understanding was that this would allow me to boot into CFW automatically after the device is turned off.
Everything works fine although when my device turns off, it automatically boots into safe mode ( without needing a jig) but I need to inject the payload through my PC otherwise my console is bricked.

Is this working as intended or am I supposed to be able to turn on my switch to a CFW without connecting to anything?

Also, how can I go about returning to the menu that lets me disable auto RCM?

edit: As I re-read what I wrote I see how potentially silly me question is. I assume RCM = Recovery Mode and that the point of the dongle is to auto launch the payload...
You're correct on your edit, Auto RCM only skips using the jig, everything else needs to be done either via the PC or dongle.

Any news about DK?

And Street Fighter seems to work fine here :

Around minute 11

DK always worked, but the ROM loads slower than the original, something that I have not seen in any other ROM.

You can add Fallen Legion Rise to Glory to the list of "Card 2" games
Added, thanks for the info!

I'm splitting them with my own tool (XCI-Cutter v2.4.2).
The size of the parts is 4,294,934,528 bytes.

I've tried more than 10 games (Mario Odyssey, Zelda BotW, FIFA18, Doom, Donkey Kong ...)
All are running without any issue.

But it seems like i'm the only one.

My switch is on firmware 4.1, Samsung evo+ 128GB, Fat32 with 32k clusters (Formatted using guiformat)
