Can someone answer this for me please?

My first question is why Resident Evil 7 getting a cloud version? If Ark survival evolved can come to the Switch and it's completely playable at this point why can't Resident Evil 7 do the same? A open world game that I've heard that is badly optimized on various systems is looking amazing on the switch (Which might be the most optimized version ) while Resident Evil 7 a horror game is doing the exact opposite? Can someone please answer this question for me because this might be the worst thing Capcom....

Its very weird because the RE Engine is already natively working on the Switch, there is no reason to stream it besides the Point of costs and work xD
I think Capcom became a bit lazy when it comes to Switch, i think RE2 isnt coming to switch too, not native, and not via stream

Nothing, thats the weird Thing... Capcom said months ago that they finally managed to bring the RE Engine on Switch. Then months later nothing happened and now they brought the crappy streamversion to the switch in japan. Idk what happened but If you ask me its because of money and time, they wanted to Bring RE7 to switch with nearly No effort :/
What games are Currently using that Engine ? I think for right now its only RE7 and the upcoming RE2 remake (which looks incredible *__*) For Devil May Cry 5 it seems to be a different Engine, but im Not 100% Sure. Monster Hunter World is running on MT Framework.

it was a controversy because its actually because of Capcom making a statement to Nintendo on why the Switch has 4GB of ram (it originally wasn't), for the RE engine for the switch. Only irony is that RE7 is not running natively on the switch, which implies at least till this point that Capcom made Nintendo do something that it itself hasn't fully utilized yet.

Just because they were able to get the engine running on the Switch doesn't mean they were able to get the game running properly. Chances are they ended up not being able to get the game performing at an adequate level (think WWE 2K18) without making severe cuts to the game and instead resorted to the cloud version as a way to recoup development costs.

If Bethesda was able to port both Doom and Wolfy 2 to the Switch (with drawbacks, but fully playable), Capcom has no excuse not to bring RE2/RE7 to the console, unless their coding skills suck ass and the engine is not optimized enough.

You can't really compare the two. idTech 6 was built to be scalable, whereas RE Engine was made with PS4/XBone specifically in mind.

playing devils advocate, but RE7 runs on a GPDWin2
I'm just saying it's entirely possible there are technical reasons why the Switch couldn't run a proper RE7 port. That is pretty cool though; I'd be interested to see how the underclocked Tegra X1 handles it under Nintendo's graphics API rather than on an x86 CPU and DX11.
