But what about homebrew usage in emunand, or even running CFW within emunand. That doesn't sound ban safe either. Plus I dont see how games in SX-OS can be detected when they're legit titles that show up as cartridge games. It wouldn't register as an unauthorized software.

Edit: Oh you mean keeping emunand offline, I see now
Nintendo could check for headers and they will be most likely removed, 0ed or if thousands use the same highly suspicious

Why would it? You go online with an unmodified sysnand and keep the emunand offline. I don’t think homebrew gets you banned, only cheating online and attacking their cdn
Oh, now I get it. I thought you were saying something along the lines of "emunand can circumvent bans".

Yeah man I agree.
If atmosphere could be made compatible with any ifw through fg, then I'm game for the homebrew.
Having emunand as an option is fine as long as it does not delay the development process of atmosphere.
What about for people on 5.0+, what would be the point of playing your games in emunand when you may as well play them in sysnand. I wish Atmosphere didn't make emunand mandatory and you could launch it in sysnand as an added option. Kinda hate emunand since it takes up a huge amount of space, creates complications where sysnand is unlinked or linked from emunand like on wiiu. I personally think launching emunand just to use some homebrew is a bit much. At least SX-OS works right on SysNAND and supports homebrew.

Then you don't need emunand if you can go online on your sysnand as that's basically the purpose of it.
Think of someone on version 1 for instance. They can't go online to purchase new games or play newer games for that matter. They need/require emunand to do that which has the potential risk of banning their console.

Nothing its completely useless, emunand is a waste when theres no good reason to use the cfw in the first place.

Just some head ups:
Banned Emunand = Banned Sysnand

Also:
Asked SciresM This:

Whats the reason to develop a Custom Firmware for lower software versions than the current one? as example, why not force users to update to the current version and develop the Firmware for it, avoiding to write the core for several firmwares?
This way its just update the core of the code for the ongoing versions?
I see the idea of supporting other firmware, but wouldn't that just make users stays on lower versions when they can update right now? again this is very honest question, not a demanding nor a troll.

His Response Was:
If a user on 4.1.0 wants to create an emuNAND with a copy of 1.0.0 and boot into that, we should support that.

If a user on 1.0.0 wants to create an emuNAND with a copy of 4.1.0 and boot into that, we should support that.

If a user on 2.0.0 wants to boot into linux, we should try our best to support chainloading into that instead of Horizon.

The core of the CFW shouldn't be firmware-specific at all -- it should generally support everything that it can.

I think they're pretty damn interchangeable.

there is a good reason for it 1.0.0 and 2 users will be able to update there emunand so they can play newer games with updating there sys nand

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
