Does anyone know what we'll be getting with Atmosphere that we don't already have with hbl, hekate, and pegaswitch?

The main thing would be emunand which will allow u to "update" to the latest firmware to play the newest games and get online with them maybe. But as far as making backups of your games and playing them..that won't come with the CFW. Someone will have to fork the CFW and add it to it that way. So in the long run not many people will stick with what everyone is waiting for.

Agreed emunand will be a nice addition being that I'm still on 3.0.0 and would like to play newer titles.

Emunand, more homebrew compability, expanded homebrew capability, more control of the system for homebrew.
basically the chance to update the emunand and not the sysnand, that way saving your efuses
and
More advances and capable homebrew, like plugins, mods, the so wished by certain people "backup loaders" that are going to be used to load "backup of games that they totally own legaly for sure wink wink", etc

What about for people on 5.0+, what would be the point of playing your games in emunand when you may as well play them in sysnand. I wish Atmosphere didn't make emunand mandatory and you could launch it in sysnand as an added option. Kinda hate emunand since it takes up a huge amount of space, creates complications where sysnand is unlinked or linked from emunand like on wiiu. I personally think launching emunand just to use some homebrew is a bit much. At least SX-OS works right on SysNAND and supports homebrew.

If Nintendo can track that you play pirated games, a clean online NAND would be useful

Well, considering we can't trick their systems with a spoofed serial or other identifier.. That means nothing.. :x

Why would it? You go online with an unmodified sysnand and keep the emunand offline. I don’t think homebrew gets you banned, only cheating online and attacking their cdn

But what about homebrew usage in emunand, or even running CFW within emunand. That doesn't sound ban safe either. Plus I dont see how games in SX-OS can be detected when they're legit titles that show up as cartridge games. It wouldn't register as an unauthorized software.

Edit: Oh you mean keeping emunand offline, I see now
