What the title says, i was wondering if there was a reason why i haven't seen any payload for fg rcm that is just a menu to load other payloads from the switch sd.
This is not a request, and maybe my searching skills failed me and there is one that does that.
But i was just wondering the Why? it seems useful, is there a deep technical reason why hasn't happened yet, like limitations or that is insanly difficult or just happens that nobody has done it yet?
sorry if my English is a bit odd, and sorry for posting such a dumb question, but you know, curiosity. :)
Edit: sorry i think i put it in the wrong section by error.

That is sort of how Atmosphere works, if you build the files from source you get several "payloads" stratosphere.bin, exosphere.bin etc. That get loaded from sd when you inject fusee-primary.

Yeah i know it still does not exist and that TX SX anounced a similar functionality, i was asking the "why does not exist?" Seems like a good idea and useful, and the inexisctence of it is strange for me, so i was wondering and asking if it was for a reason that it still does not exist like technical limitations or very dificult to do it... just curiosity.
I do not mean loading multiple payloads at once, just a "custom payload bootloader" to select betwen diferent payloads, for example, A hekate, B memloader, C gpt restore.
that sort of thing

I'm sure it won't be too long. Great idea tho OP. Dunno why I wasnt thinking of that. I'm sure a true CFW will have that feature.

To be honest, I don't really see the point right now, at least until we have a coldboot exploit. You'll need a device to load that payload anyhow, why make a middleman for (at the moment) no reason? That's my thinking.

Once we have an open source modchip finished, or something that loads such an SD Loader on boot, it would be useful and easier to manage though.

Because actually anyone can make their own dongle whit different methods, and a dongle works better whit a single payload that loads other payloads solution, that and modchips.

It's very useful for people creating their own dongle:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/build-your-own-dongle-research-and-development-thread.504633/

Or people wanting to do an AutoRCM + modchip:
https://twitter.com/ktemkin/status/998313617769447424
https://twitter.com/i8br/status/999358621321482240 (working example) (trinket m0)
https://imgur.com/THpL2Mp (another example) (PIC32MX270F256B)

That way you only have to burn the 'loader payload' to the device once, and then on the Switch you use a simple FTP homebrew to update all the payloads you have on the SD card. That way you don't have to take anything apart.

Yea, I understand that. It that case it would be useful, I said that. But most are not using a dongle to coldboot into a payload automatically, they are using tegrarcmsmash or something similar for their device. I'm sure one will pop up when that is normal practice.

Speaking of "making your own dongle", I wonder if using a Type-C flash drive will be a viable in the future. Granted, I myself am still new to the Switch hacking scene, so forgive me if I sound a bit ignorant in this, but I wonder if someone could figure out an auto-executable that could do payloads with a Type-C flash drive inserted into the Switch. Would this be possible in rcm? I imagine someone somewhere has already tried this though, so maybe it's not. And I imagine dongles have some sort of hardware tweaks in them that sets them apart from being just a flash drive.
