Hacking Can powersaves pro be used with flashcarts or must you have the original cartridge?

As per question, can powersaves pro (or similar devices) be used with flashcarts? Or must you have the original cartridge?

have to be the original as you have no way to select what game etc is on the cartridge while in your powersaves

It should theoretically work with Sky3DS and Stargate since they have hardware buttons for switching games.

if your using a flashcart..dont most come with cheating built in? why would you need pwoersaves (i owned it. it was a pain .)

Firstly just to satisfy my curiosity. Secondly because apparently 3ds games don't work the same way as ds, meaning you can't input a code for the cheat to work. Something about how the code for 3ds games interact with the system and is ever-changing. Meaning the only option is powersaves. But, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

ever changing would be refering to how most games now are programmed with dynamic address values. Meaning that unless you have a pointer code from the beginning of the code string the value thats outputted would be searched and found but will change when ever the system is set to change it. The 3ds does have NTR CFW for codes aswell as CTRPF.
